... i do not wanna rant or whine, these guys just had me pants down, the only thing i cannot get is the why.
The story in short:
I was approaching a gate in a 0.3 system, when i saw some red boxed guys and i thought **** .... you will have to pay them as they targeted me and began shooting. I was in a BS so i was clearly a good target for a reasonable ransom. I gave a greeting in local, armor already down ... structure down ... ship down ... pod down.
Back at station i convod Ms. Zarquon Beeblebroy as i have a high opinion on her and her being polite when gate camping ( so i thought ). Here is the convo:
[ 2004.07.19 22:52:09 ] -> Zarquon Beeblebrox has joined the channel
[ 2004.07.19 22:52:16 ] Burzon > hi
[ 2004.07.19 22:52:17 ] Zarquon Beeblebrox > good day sir
[ 2004.07.19 22:52:31 ] Burzon > hmmm, i am a bit astonished tbh

[ 2004.07.19 22:53:14 ] Burzon > i have you in memory as honorable pirate, but you and you men just killed and podded me without even talking to me in local

So what is the point in this except mindless destruction ?? Pirating for ISK ... i am fine with it. Pirating for pure destruction ... this gets to griefing.
Anyway just my 2 cents on this. Maybe someone can explain to me.

Hmmm....not a bad point at all. But i have one for you to think about. All around this forum there are scattered threats about piracy and honor, in which most "serious" pirates try to seperate themselves from the "scum" by saying that they pirate for profit. Someone doing a business for profit usualy weighs the risks against the profits. Gate camping in 0.3, as the convo shows, is far away from this concept, so the statements around this forum must now be seen as plain wrong, as the changes in sentry system made the "serious" pirates level with the "scum" as there is no distinct difference between them now ... shoot, kill, pod without asking.
Again, just my 2 cents.

I am fine with that, destroying my ship in 0.3 in sentry range ... you deserve it for sure, but i ask you how much did you earn from my corpse ?? I bet .... 0 ISK. If you just did for Trophy, knowing that you might destroy a lot of my honestly eraned ISK is close to griefing. Again i have no trouble having my ship killed it is just the podding that was getting me to wonder where the Teddybears have gone.
Anyway, i learned my lessen but still there is a soar taste of disappointment in the "honourable" pirates of EVE.

Soren, pls stay serious, i am not flaming at all, i am just trying to understand motivations and the pirate community in EVE. I think you should keep your sarcasm or bad jokes just to you. If you cannot join into a serious and mature discussion then get out of my thread and **** up.

Yeah, i had my troubles with lags and alike, bet i would have warped out if i could. Anyway your answer is a clear position and although i do not like it i can see clear now. Honourable piracy does not exist and you should change the last lines of your Sig as you just denied to them, at least partly.
Just a last question, would you ever play an MMORPG where you cannot live from ganking ??

As you have your style, i have my style as well, i only smack talked once against some mOo guys but they podded me for that :) Another lesson learned !
