England obviously, plus our VAT is a hell of a lot lower than Ireland even after they raise it again in a few years. Sterling in cheap, and you can pick up some nice cheap commercial properties at the moment. ------------------------------------------- THE CAKE IS A LIE |

I'm hoping that our government will stop being so f***** dense by making these laws without any concern whatsoever to the long-term effects.
I sure as hell don't want CCP to leave Iceland. I think It'd be devastating as a little fairy told me that they were one of the biggest exporters of "service" in the entire country.
Thenagain, my government is stupid... hoping they'll change their minds or do something right is like wishing world leaders would settle for world peace.

Actually Ireland does kind of make sense with all the software companies already there. They'd turn around and leave again though after the first Good Friday bank holiday (alcohol sales illegal), and of course, the ferking endless rain.

I think Wrangler's Island sounds better. Has something cinematic on it. "Lost on Wrangler's Island" and "Return to Wrangler's Island" and "The Horrors from Wrangler's Island"
Would make great B-Movies.

Woa, if you have to move to another country/city my two choices would be London/Madrid
I would SURELY go to the next Fanfest ... Easier for me to travel up there from Down here in Venezuela haha, Iceland is way too expensive/far from here
Anyway, hope you guys at CCP manage to agree on a deal with the government, must sux leaving behind your HQ up there.

Ewww why move to UK where everyone lives in rabbit hutches! that cost thier weigth in Gold to buy...
Your better off moving to Germany or Sweeden or even Poland! Where there is lots of large appartments, and life is soo much cheaper than bancrupt UK.

Well if they choose to move to a place where they already have things setup(america, britain, china)I think America is probably the best of the three as the market is freer then china and the taxes are less(depending on state)then britain.

Iceland may be a backwater place but if they were forced to move why would they move to another pit. England is a postindustrial wasteland.

That isn't saying a whole lot, moving HQ to the US would eventually kill EVE as the US have all kinds of silly laws and lawsuits just waiting to screw anything worthwhile over.

Originally by: Glengrant Ireland might make sense. Eurozone, close to iceland, english speaking, low business taxes AFAIK.
Dublin has areas with very low business taxes. I went for an interview with Microsoft down there once and the number of companies with big offices there is astounding.
I'm going to chance my arm at getting a job with CCP after I graduate in July and Iceland is probably the least vegan-friendly place on the planet. I'd still go to Iceland but I'd fully support CCP moving to somewhere else :P. You're probably right though that it's just media pressure on the government.

The US and UK are too expensive to do business these days, US on account of compliance/legal, UK on account of taxes. Better go to a country where racketeering is not an accepted part of the economy.

CCP might branch out into other countries to circumvent the investment block for other projects, like the White Wolf stuff or whatever else they are cooking up.
CCP already has their WoD offices in Atlanta. I am sure they would be more than welcome to HQ there.
