Hey. I am just about to start using level 4 agents. I would like to use an amarr BS to do the missions as all my skills are in amarr. I can use T2 armor gear, T2 cap stuff, T1 rigs and guns. Could you please recommend what Amarr BS will work the best and what setups you would use, please take into account I can only use T1 lasers.
Cheers

Requires 3% CPU implant unless you replace one of the hardeners with faction. Swap hardeners for rat damage types and bring different crystals for ranges. Replacing both the reps with Amarr Navy ones can avoid the need for cpu implant.
Edit: Ah t1 guns, so just drop down to best named and you won't have any cpu issues.

I'd suggest the Apocalypse, with its range bonus and massive capacitor it's a great BS for, well, almost everything actually. You really should get T2 heavy pulse though as soon as you can, the long range crystals are massively better than their T1 equivalents. The setup I use is...
[Apocalypse, Mission runner] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Capacitor Power Relay II Large Armor Repairer II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II 100MN Afterburner II
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Capacitor Control Circuit I Nanobot Accelerator I Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Hammerhead II x5 Hobgoblin II x5
This is very skill intensive (like all Amarr ships) but will run the rep and all the guns without any issues, and allow you to use the afterburner for a few minutes alongside everything. Obviously change the hardeners and drones based on the NPC type. If you can't use T2 pulse then the T1 variety will certainly make fitting easier, you'll just do less damage (obviously!).

You need nice support skills, tanking/cap/gunnery skills mainly. Drop a heat sink for a cap power relay if you need perma tanking.
I also carry Gamma, Standard and Microwave in my hold.

Edited by: Dred ''Morte on 24/12/2008 00:48:55 All of those are bad setups. Mine is pretty much perfect though:
8x Mega Pulse II [MF/Standard] 100mn Afterburner II 3x Cap Recharger II 2x Large Armor Repairer II 3x N-Type / Amarr Navy Armor Hardener (depending on mission) Capacitor Power Relay II Heat Sink II 3x Capacitor Control Circuit 5x Medium Drone II 5x Scout Drone II
If you can't use tech 2 guns, then you use tech 1 guns, it's that simple tbh. Less damage though. 20Km range with MF and 40Km range with Standard. Can run everything forever with maxed skills. The afterburner will help you not only close in on target but also force cruisers (or even some frigates) to momentarily move "away" from you, resulting in a very low transversal velocity where Mega Pulse will hit no matter the speed/range. Very effective for lvl 4 amarr agents. You'll have difficulty though, when the rats using tracking disruptors, there no way of avoiding that.

I'm guessing this fit is for an Apoc since you didn't mention the ship class. if so then here are your fails: CPR2 <- Gimps fit HS2 <-- only one dmg mod? 3x CCC <-- it's an Apoc
i really hope that is an Apoc fit, 'cause it would be lolwutbaddon otherwise.
the only bad fits in this thread so far is the first response (only one dmg mod, no AB, too many CCCs) and yours. *twitch!* |

While you're using a two energy locus, 3 heat sink apoc w/ megapulses, you should train up for a nightmare cuz nothing beats it.

If ya dont like the Nightmare, you can also go with a Paladin. Plus its Amarr unlike the Nightmare.
Fits 4 t2 Tachyons as well, only needs faction LAR. I have 0 PG left with the 2 tractors and 1 salvager.
And before anyone brings up the tracking boosts of the Nightmare, i have 2 faction tracking computers as well, as CCC T2 give you enough cap. Cruisers pop at 15 klicks orbit no problem at all. The rest gets eaten by the drones.
T2 Mega pulse is the way to go, and personally i suggest an Abaddon the most, as it has the biggest dps of all 3 Amarr ships. Then i prefer Geddon over the apoc, simply because DPS is king. And that leads to Pally or Nightmare with T2 Tachyons in the end. 900+ DPS cannot be wrong. (Thats without drones but includes implants)
Attack without mercy, until blood is gone, until life is gone, until the light is gone, unto the shadow itself.
Better to die with honor, than to live in shame. |

My apoc: 8x Mega Pulse Laser II (Various ammo, carry scorch)
100mn AB II, 3x CR II (or 2x CR + Sensor Booster)
LAR II, 3x hardener, 3x faction heatsink
2x CCC, 1x locus rig
Works like a charm <3 __________________________________

The nightmare is vertical therefore it is simply superior to all non-vertical ships.
There is no arguement.
Case Closed.

Well, if the problem persists more than 4 hours then consult a doctor as this is not normal.

Once you have trained up fitting / capacitor / BS and Gunnery skills decently, the Abaddon can outperform the Apocalypse. Till u get skills and learn how to move around lvl 4s, the Apocalypse provides a way safer approach, due to cap stability. you people havent got a clue,
Mega pulse II with SCORCH u need SCHORCH or youre just not gonna bring the dps at range in lvl 4s.
Apoc with 8 x megapulse II Scorch L hits at 65 optimal. with bs lvl 4
and ur gonna do 85% the dps of multifreq at nearly 5 times the range.
dont use MF on pulses. and beams with multifreq stil havnt got the dps and range of mega pulses.
k thx

1- tachyons have the highest dps of all non-capital guns in the game.
2- the tracking issues that tachyons have are largely compensated by the tracking bonus from a nightmare.
3- a nightmare or paladin both run lvl 4s faster than a mega pulse apoc or navy apoc.

Edited by: Nai Weil on 26/12/2008 12:24:14 Amarr Battleships are awesome. You've seen Apocalypse fits - although it's really best with T2 Megapulse. The range is great, almost too great with Megabeams (anything beyond Infrared and you're struggling to target far enough unless you fit Sensor Boosters) and with T1 Megapulses it's a bit short since you can't use Scorch. Abaddon is also very powerful if you have decent cap skills, and even the Armageddon is no slouch.
I use the Armageddon:-
7x Mega Modulated Beam Laser I 1x Drone Link Augmentor
2x Cap Recharger 1x 100MN Afterburner
2x HS II 1x RCU II (without Energy Grid Upgrades V use a PDU II and you can still use 5 Megabeams and 2 Dual Heavies) 1x LAR II 2x Primary Damage Hardener 1x Secondary Damage Hardener 1x EANM II (for Drone/Merc missions) or a 3rd HS II (for Sansha's/Blood missions)
2x CCC 1x Aux Nano Pump
5x Hobgoblin II 5x Hammerhead II 2x Ogre I (still training for II)

I use a navy apoc for lvl 4:
-8 megapulse T2 -3 cap recharger T2/tracking computer with range script -AN LAR/3AN HS/3AN specific rat hardeners/AN cpr -2 nano pump/1 locus coordinator
Don't use scorch for mission, too expensif and not mandatory as this setup have 27km range in multi and 55 with standard. and if you want a AB for some specific mission like WC, just swap the track comp

Load Scorch for sniping far away spawns. AN UV or scorch for 50k orbiters. Originally I was supposed to swap one recharger II for a faction tracking comp but never got around to buying one.
Now for OP. Fit an apoc with mega beams, 4 cap rechargers, One repper (AN pref), 3-4 rat spec. harneders and 2-3 Heat Sinks. Rig it with a mix of CCC's and nano pumps.
For easy missions, 3 hardeners is enough whereas something like blockade wants 4.
