Im not sure if this is the correct forum for this , but ive noticed a complete lack of advertising for eve online,.
Get some t.v coverage with some famous names or excellent footage etc,. post some billboards. i dont buy computer magazines anymore as they are way to expensive for what they are, im presuming there are adds in there. But as a whole i see no coverage of this game anywhere.

Eve advertised on line, the average person who signs up for say WoW after watching a TV ad is not going to last long in this game. You need to be a little wise as far as on line activities (scams etc) to enjoy this game unlike other carebear type games.
Also eve could not survive 1/2 million new players signing up for a trial after watching a TV add in the space of a month. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congrated by carebears for the actions. |

I agree with the last poster... Eve is advertised all over the Net.
But hey, how about a 30 minute Eve Infomercial with actual video from ingame, culminating with an all out Fleet battle in null sec.
The trial accounts would probably explode, with most coming here and saying Eve is too hard and going QQ.

TV? Thanks but lag is bad enough now without 80K online at any time, even for a brief period before they emoragequit.

They've advertised in spurts, such as on Sci-Fi channel recently. They also get a lot of press in MMO related blogs. Sure, not on places like GiantBomb or other gaming places - but any decent MMO site like IGN's site or Massively or MMORPG.com gives them a TON of coverage. So does Rock Paper Shotgun, for that matter.
I would rather they put their money and efforts into the product and let word of mouth do the work for them. Gradual growth by people spreading the word to other people they feel will "get" the game is better than mass marketing and getting an influx of traditional MMORPG players who just don't get it we find ourselves flooded with 100,000 new people all demanding everything under the sun and whining and complaining at every hiccough.

Yeah, they can see the stunning non-premium graphics needed to run the game, but still have a ****load of lag along with it.
