It makes you an idiot because you believe you're in a position to standing in judgment on others, all the while worry about what people are saying in a video game to each other. If you think that people smoking means they will "burn in hell", you're REALLY an idiot. Go say a prayer and maybe your imaginary friend will clue you in as to why, although if you're SO pious, i'm surprised you have time to worry about where others are going when you yourself have doomed yourself to the (imaginary) fires of hell for breaking the sanctity of marriage. and nope, not expecting kids - have been busy raising one for the last 17 years - but if i was, then i wouldn't be coming to a game forum to ask advice or for input, and nor would I be worrying about what my kid might read in "local" in, i don't know, 12-15 years. not sure if you've seen it, but it's a scary world outside and again, there are bigger things to worry about than the content of a video game.
again, i wish your ex-wife's child well, sounds like they'll need it.

Presuming for even a second that you're actually not just failing at an attempt to be an amusing troll...
My advice would be to chill the **** out, grow up and stop trying to limit what other grown adults can do in their own time and with their own form of relaxation. If you don't want your 12 year old kid hearing people talk about smoking or drinking (neither of which I do) or using "filthy language", then control what the hell your kid does. As for me - I'm not a child and I resent any other adult dictating to me what is or isn't appropriate. If you're into that sort of anal-retentive control and imposing yourself on other people, perhaps you should go to the library and help make sure there aren't any books out of order and ruthlessly and carelessly disregarding the mighty dewy decimal system.
As for your kid... I could not give a rats ass about your kid. The kid isn't mine and it is YOUR obligation to teach YOUR kid how to be a responsible and rational and reasonable person. Not mine. Part of that obligation is teaching YOUR kid to think for themselves. If you really think your kid is impressionable enough and stupid enough to get drunk (OH NO! NOT DRUNKING! THE WORLD WILL END!) or smoke or do ******* (it's a hell of a drug!) just because some idiots on the internet talk about it, then you have FAILED.
Again, presuming this isn't all just a failed attempt at humor, which I would say it is safe to presume this is.

Congrats on the new one; however, banning certain behavior in certain environments won't stop the behavior you're trying to avoid.
Hold your kid, corp mates, etc. responsible for their actions. That will promote the behavior you're looking for. Banning behavior NEVER works.

Iirc, the only reason drug-smuggling wasn't a profession from the get-go was the EU's stance on drugs and games. This game is about as far from your version of "virtuous" as can be.
This IS the internet, after all, and the seat of unrestricted, largely uncensored cultural exchanges that are the bane of protectionist parents around the world.
And no, I don't have kids of my own. If they did, they'd play Eve from day one just for the huge range of opinions, lifestyles and problem solving skills used by the international communities here. And, I might add, they would understand the effects of all those things you mentioned, both positive and negative, because they'd be exposed to them all their lives anyway.
I still call troll, though.

How many corps are out there who ban flying under influence? How many non-smoking corps? How many vegans in EvE?
I know this may sound lame to you if you no have kids, you're prolly some loser who plays online spaceship game game at xmas so I dont think you make a nice population to sample from. But if you have kids (or expecting) (or have exs expecting) then I hope you hear what I say..
Why not ban smoking and drinking (alcholic beverages) from EvE? I really enjoy the way CCP just beeps out words like **** and ******** and ******** from forums and local chat and etc.. But people can still say, for example, "ooh i drunk 11 beers and i keeled a velator" or "i keeled his titan 1vs1 while i was out on smoke break"..
Is this fair?
I know there are a lot of mature players who drink alcoholic substances and smoke tobbacco or worse (they will burn in hell) but still.. Is this the spaceship game we want to inherit to our children?
