Will CONCORD intervene if you kill the npc indys (retailers, chauffers, etc.)? If not, will the station guns go for you?
I read recently that CONCORD will not intervene at all, and the only guns to worry about were from stations owned by the NPC corp that controls the indys.
Anyone in the know?

Yes, CONCORD will not come if you shoot the NPC haulers.
However, if the convoy is owned by the same people who own that station, they will shoot you. I'm not 100% on how you can check, but I've heard ships leaving the station belong to that station, ships arriving don't.

Highsec sentries, since their are 8 of them on most stations (as opposed to 2 on lowsec gates) do roughly 1200-1400 DPS, so if you **** off the wrong station and don't have a massive tank or a very good buffer, you're asking for trouble.
I believe damage type distrubution is about 17.5% EM/32.5% Kin/32.5% Therm/17.5% Expl
I've done it at a station and tanked them long enough to loot/warp out in an Onyx, and I'm sure a Drake or some other well tanked ship can do it also, but remember that you incurr a faction standing penalty for each one you kill, so only kill the ones from corps you either have low standing with or don't care about. ------------

I used to take out these convoy ships solo in an Iteron. Oh how times have changed.
Also, All turrets used to fire at you (regardless of ownership of the NPC ship) so you had to engage beyond 150km from the nearest turret.
I think it doesn't work like that anymore though and it's literally been years since I did it, It wasn't profitable so I stopped.

I tried tanking gate guns and shooting at convoy ships on TQ a few months ago.
My rokh got into armor before it could warp out even though it was about 150km away from a lot of the guns (it had no tank though which is likely the primary explanation ) and a full tank abaddon can tank the guns for several minutes before warping out with a non-optimized build.
Not really sure I'd recommend this as a course of action, however, just because of the fact that attacking convoys is what some people wish high-sec L4s were like. More loss than gain and lots and lots of risk. ____________________

I just gave it a try using the wiki as a guide, and using a complete throwaway rat trash fitted Caracal. Worked like a charm, but after an hour I had amassed a huge stockpile of nearly valueless crap (anyone want 40k units of quafe?). This was the result of killing about 10 different convoys, and as near as I can tell if I sold everything to the highest bidder I might have accumulated about 1.5 million isk worth of junk that.
It's certainly a bit more interesting than running a mission or ratting for cash but I can't imagine it being terribly profitable in general. The only highlights were substantial quantities of (cheap) trade goods used to power POS's (O2 and heavy water).

My friend and i used to blow these up in sniper ships 152km from the station guns.
They USED to carry those overseer things that drop in the drone complexes, we made about 200M isk an hour doing that until CCP contacted us and told us to stop it. Then they removed the overseer box things in a later patch.
