It must be nice if your able to deal with annoying questions by just declaring the person asking them a troll. But my questions are serious. Though since you have proven that you were plexing over Christmas, I do have to reword my question a bit:
Were you stupid enough to ruin your holiday plans with plexing, or are you lying about having plans in the first place ?
If you didn't have any plans, your holiday can't HAVE been ruined.
Let me ask you a question, why are you questioning each and every thing I say? Do I have to link and source every sentance just to please you or something?

Again, why the distrust? As if I'm somehow lying for being max rank, while there have been posts about that months ago.
I already gave the reasons for participating, and one of the reasons was expecting to get a medal, as precedented in the Kourmonen Campaign.

Ugh. Look, there are a lot of thankless tasks in EVE. Like mining ice. I hate doing it, but I do it because it benefits my corporation and my alliance. Every hour I spend mining ice I could be spending ratting (making 15+ mil ISK/hour) or mining Arkonor (making 30+ mil ISK/hour) or running around space killing people who richly deserve it (or getting killed myself, same fun either way).
CCP has given you an opportunity to have a say in how your Tournament team will be decided. You chose to take advantage of it, knowing full well that there was no other reward in it for you.
It's not like CCP said, "do this and you'll get to decide the team and get a medal for your troubles" and is now welching on the medals part. They are giving you exactly what they advertised. If at any point in the process you felt that it wasn't worth your time, you could have simply stopped 'plexing. There, problem solved.
Honestly, this is quite possibly the whiniest thread I've seen in a while. Your militia was guaranteed a spot in the Tournament. That's pretty huge. Because it is an NPC corp, there needed to be a way to decide who would represent the militia, so one was provided. Honestly, I think CCP has bent over backwards to give you opportunities here. Whether you choose to take advantage of them or not is your choice, but whining that you're not getting a freaking medal for your (ultimately self-serving) efforts at an (entirely optional) activity is the height of petulant.
So no. No medal for you. |

The Kourmonen Medal was given as the capture marked the end of the unlawful occupation of recognized Amarr space by Minmatar forces.
None of us who received it asked for it, but were rather pleasantly surprised. I can only guess that the Empress' words: "What you give to the Empire, the Empire shall give onto you" has literal meaning.
Asking for material goods, which a medal is, for doing your duty .. voluntary duty to boot, is below even the lowest of the insurgent Matari. I am appalled to hear such a suggestion from the Gallente, whom I up until now held higher.
((OOC: I was, as long as I deemed it necessary, the top VP earner of all militia's. Taking in a consistent 15k+ per week for months on end.
After a while we LolzRP'ers got the PvP'ers hooked on the plexes and the sublime combat they represent and I went cold turkey on plexing.
I am now dedicated to stopping the idiots abusing the mechanics, be it the standings trick, speed tanking or neutral probers. In the process I have risen to the top on overall kills as well, so the VP whoring does not exclude the kill whoring.
The automatic wildcard to the tourny is awesome to say the least, and I look forward to seeing 'Amarr Victor' in local 
Since I am clearly "better" than all you other FW chaps my word must carry more weight, and I say HELL NO! to useless trinkets. I would much rather have CCP setup a proper reward system like a rank based discount from faction LP stores.
So spend your energy replying constructively to the FW issue threads instead of begging for useless bling.

Not true. I lead Caldari in victory points and most of mine are from offensive plexing without the benefit of standings that would allow me to sit there undisturbed. I've wondered how some people could rack up huge points and now I know.

I am also somewhat annoyed by the fact that Ankh has been contacting Caldari plexers to join in her goal, saying that top Gallente/Matar plexers are already in her pocket to support the medal giving.
Now, if Ankh was an opponent I could respect like Val Erian, perhaps this thing might have some merit. But as it stands, I have zero interest to support it and Ankhs own agenda, whatever those might be. I also believe i'm not the only Caldari who thinks this way.

Why do factional warfare teams even get automatic entry into the alliance tournament?
From a gameplay point of view, CCP has made clear that alliances and FW are completly seperate things. If you want to take part in faction warfare then you need to leave your alliance, so if you want to take part in the ALLIANCE tournament you should have to leave FW and join an alliance.
From a role play point of view, what the hell are pilots flying for the state/empire/republic/federation doing getting involved in a matter that purely concerns capsuleers. They have been hired to fight on the front line, not pansy about in a tournament which has nothing to do with the security of the Empire/etc.

Excellent points. Would be great to have an Alliance Tournament between factions as lead in to Alliance Tournament.
Aside from that, was not aware we FW people had been "hired to fight." I will ask the Disbursing Officer where the hell my paychecks are. For the morale of the Alliances, I hope those FW people "pansying around" in the tournament don't actually win a fight. Imagine the epeen retribution that would engender!

Maybe next year there could be a FW tournament whose winner would get an automatic spot in the PVP tournament - unless the militias do really well in the tournament this year (who's willing to bet on that?). Would that stop all you bigshot nullsec whiners from crying all over the forums? |

Play the game, play it well and ppl will recognize you. Play like a whiney b**** and youll just get primaried more often defending plexes... |

I'm happy to announce that top Caldari plexers came to quick agreement on our tournament FC and have sent the information to CCP, who will announce it at designated time. I wonder what happens if Ankh gets her way and Gal/Matars don't nominate an FC?

hummm i'd like my fair share of recognition for remote repping, me and my scimitar but meeh - tournament rules screwed that over (or maybe that _is_ indeed recognition).
and there's other stuff that has to be done when being a PvPer; POSes for (stations) sov, the logistical nightmare it can pose if you keep exaggerating.
diplomatic hassle with tons of chats every day for every rat unjustly farmed x_X
sure... empire wars can be a lot easier (hi molotov o/)
and hey, they have to make their own money to replace ships aswell... -.- |
