I installed the newest nvidia drivers and the game worked fine except for the usual age old problem with the billboards not showing anything and minmatar stations having graphics problems. I did not have to change anything else.
Reading above, it seems that most of the people that are having the white screen problems also have older cards. One thing to note - Those of you that have a Dell computer or another computer like that that came with the Nvidia card (ie- you did not buy the card off the self and install it yourself), in the past i have read on the nvidia page that the unified drivers they produce may not be the best drivers for your card, you should always use the drivers offered by the company you got the computer from. That said, if you are not using a geforce FX card or possibly a high end Geforce 4, you are probably better off with the onlder drivers as well.

I am getting much the same thing; I installed the newest drivers from Nvidia (61.76) and got a white screen.
I have since gone back to the old 53.03 drivers and everything is back to normal.
I am using a GeForce2 MX400 (yeah I know, ****ty)
For those who want to try the 53.03 drivers can be found here,
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_53.03.html
2004.12.11 03:07:32notifyThe Serpentis Mercenary is too far away, you need to be within 54625 meters of it but are actually 13193590680251 meters away. |

Edited by: Major Gormur on 22/07/2004 16:45:45 I have just installed a GF4 MX440 in to a XP Pro machine and I do not get this white screen. I also tried it on a 98 machine with win98 on a GF2 MX then I got it so we can now debug it.
We will look into this matter and try to find out if we can fix this if not then send it on to Nvidia.

Hey guyes! Got the same problem, and pretty much the same setup as everyone else here so I wont bother listing another system to worry about.
Well, anyways, the old NVidia drivers can be found here: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/
Trying to downgrade the driver to 56.64 now, will give you an update if it works! Cheers! Vincent Vlados |

Seems as it worked just swell. Just remember to Remove the "New" driver before installing the old one!
Cheers and Good luck! Vincent Vlados |

Got the same problem, I'll reinstall my old drivers (56.72) which were working...
XP pro Directx9.0b secure patch
And I tried to reinstall, and loaded secure patch after installing Eve and the newest Nvidia drivers... That still doesn't work. ----

In fact - 53.03 got rid of the White Screen but closed the client at Character selection.
I recommend 53.04 to fix this problem for now as that seems to work fine for me
Grab it from the list mentioned on this thread at ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/

Any updates from the devs regarding the missing billboards?
Its still apparant using the beta 62.20 driver (on 6800GT).
"I have seen everything now." "Yeah? Have you seen a man eat his own head?" |

Just my 2 cents
Missing billborad on GeForce TI4200 with newest Nvidia whql drivers, Win XP (all updates), P3 1.2 Ghz, 512MB RAM - don't laugh, i'm about to upgrade
Whitescreen on GeForce MX2 with latest Nvidia beta drivers, Win XP (all updates), P3 900Mhz Celeron, 256MB RAM - ok, you can laugh at my employer

Hiya,
I have just had the same problem myself but I logged a bug with some screenshots. One thing that I noticed was that changing the background transparency to be fully opaque helped and also 'pinning' the windows also helped.
So to some degree it seems to be related to the way the Eve handles transparencies. Perhaps the rendering differences between 'pinned' windows and differing background transparencies can provide a clue to get this whiteout problem sorted ASAP.

An update would be great from the Devs. They acknowledged the white screen and are working ot it.<?> But somehow they are STILL ignoring the billboard issue.
Awesome.
