Abaddon's cheap ad video on their frontpage is exactly adapting the style of these typical scam videos trying to sell you awesome hints how to get rid of your beer belly for a perfect six-pack. This movie alone tells the story. Not to mention the whole cheesy design of that site with a PayPal button what perfectly completes the scam style. Playing EVE for a living might be a good idea but it is very obvious that CCP will not allow to use their copyright protected ingame content for any kind of RMT. Shame on you guys that you got badly scammed by Abaddon instead of keeping cool and realistic, making tons of ISK and keep everything at a level called UNDERSTATEMENT. |

First: the content of your videos is based on roams, fights = fun in EVE and not any type of work.
Second: with Premiere and probably some AFX post-work each of your vids should not take longer that just one working day incl. encoding and upload.
Third: I am working in post-production business for 20 years and don't tell me I am wrong. |

Also, we released another free video today; solo zealot.

Haters should chill out. You sound pretty stupid whining you want this stuff for free. The very fact you are moaning about it demonstrates EIE material is of a higher quality than almost all of the other stuff out there. I for one am thankful these guys have made it available to us.
As for the high price, you all seem to have missed something very clever about it. Charging that amount discourages free "pirated" copies being redistributed by those who pay so much, while at the same time lowering the chance of redistribution by keeping the number of individuals with access to the material to a minimum. |

They must have seen this coming when they decided to charge $19. Especially a guy like Garmon who knows much about EVE must know the attitude and reaction of the community. I had been surprised if they had found a lot of people paying more for a few videos which show how to PvP (but don't inject those skills into your veines - a lot of players even with this knowledge will still fail) than a subscription for the whole game. It's disappointing that they tried it the scam-way and now they are forced to apologize and lowering the prices down to 74%. In RL business you would be seen as non-credible trying this and noone who worked with you will trust you again.
Anyway. Garmon apologized and we should honor this - no matter if it was forced - and keep on supporting their good stuff. Beside the scam-**** the content of their videos is great. They don't should waste time to pimp those videos with useless motion-graphics, designs and animations. Keep them pure as they are but get a better mic.
I don't think that CCP allows to use their game content for any kind of RMT. The payment should be ISK. Nothing else. Compared to the $5,00 I have to say that ISK 400mil is still too high. If it's between 150mil - 200mil (what is actually like $5 depending on the PLEX value) then I would subscribe and support the idea. Just keep in mind that 100 subscribers will pay 15-20bil per months. And this should be really enough for nice ships, losses and EVE for free. |

They put a few free videos out. I watched one and appreciate what they did. Instead of people posting here thanking them for doing that we just get tears that they are not all free.
I propbably won't subscribe but I hope they make allot of money. In fact I hope allot of third parties make allot of money for providing eve related services. Having sites like this just adds options for eve players.
Why do people think everyone should work for free all the time?
Also at least in the talos video he wasn't using a booster alt.

If they had offered $5 from the beginning I guess that most of us were fine with it. The discussion is not about to "work for free". They made the videos voluntary, show them for free and then they try to sell the idea for $19 per months. Additionally the whole site re-design in bad scam-style with a very cheap advertisment video (text with voice over) made the whole thing looking totally dislikable. CCP will not allow any third party to make a lot of money with their content. Your hope will die here. In the Talos video Garmon was using another alt to fly the Talos. No booster involved. I am pretty sure he's not losing many ships because he has indeed great skills after killing thousands of ships in combat with his several chars. On the other side when I want to make a great video of solo PvP I fly as long as I have a great video where I did not die and everyone gets the impression that EVE is easy and that I am awesome (when I don't tell that I had to sacrifice ten Talos' for one nice video) 
Overall the movies of Genos show that they know the game and I am sure it will inspire people to do PvP, to fly different and to learn more about regions in EVE where you find good action. But fact is: with or without these videos you have to make hundreds or thousands of kills to get that routine in left-mouse-button-micromanagement. |
