Because SOE is the devil and WoW has ruined MMOs for the forseeable future. SOE rant inc...
They ruined my first mmo Planetside by adding in huge overpowered mechwarrior type vehicles that none of the players wanted. Then they ruined my true love SWG by again not listening to the players. Better yet, they recently added a TCG where you never get any real cards and a cash shop for EQ2, go DIAF SOE. If I ever see Smed on the streets he's gonna get a hard enough kick to the nuts so that he can never spread his demon seed.
WoW became so successful by catering to the downy kids who are too dumb to play traditional MMOs and now every new MMO tries to copy the concept. The downy kids don't want to leave WoW and the old school MMOers sit on the bench shaking their heads and hoping every day that some company sees the light and makes the niche MMOs that they're used to.

I play this game because in no other game can you wage a battle between two opposing teams of non-random opponents who fight on their own terms, instead of terms dictated by the game. At which point you cna stuff the victory back in their face, and make them lose time and effort. and if i'm dumb the same thing happens to me.

Eve makes real life failers feel happy roll playing in eve makes your real life the dream and eve your new reality.
