Most likely this, seriously.
Never the less, good luck to the OP in finding the alleged fun he/she is looking for!
My whole point is this: One sided fights aren't fun, whether I am on the giving end or the receiving end. Shooting at target that aren't able to put up a decent fight to defend themselves to give me a rush aren't fun, and of course neither is being on the recieving end of that. What is the difference between shooting at a defenseless hauler, mission rat, structure, or guy who your falcon pilot gangmate has permajammed? I don't see any. And how can you call it pvp or a test of skill when all you're doing is being told by some guy on TS what buttons to press?
I want to pvp in an environment where my skill as a player and a pilot become a factor. I want close fights where I warp off in structure after winning, or vice versa. I want to engage people in fights where the outcome is determined DURING the battle, not beforehand in the ship fittings section of the hangar and by the spies you have in their alliance/corp. And above all, I want all of this and I want it while cutting out the things listed above in the "Things I don't like" section. Without these things, I simply don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
I hope that in fac war I'll be able to find these things.
Ok, well cancel now then.
FW has more spies in it than anywhere I've seen yet, its that simple to get one in, that they literally are everywhere.
From your telling, EVE is not the game for you, plain and simple. Its a strategy game, where planning and execution have as much to do with a fight, as pilot skill, so yea, the fitting hangar has a decent amount to do with your overall chance at winning the fight.
If strategy, planning, execution, and overall battlefield tactics aren't to your liking, you should go to the "my account" section and just cancel, cause your going to stay unhappy.
You will nearly always be the blob, or the blobbed, its what you do in the situation that matters most, and its your FC (the guy on TS telling you to push buttons) has got to have a firm grasp of the situation. Without him, the chaos of the fight can quickly overwhelm you, even if the other side has the worst FC in the game ( to date I believe this is Appleboy, though I can't confirm this).
All in all, I think you have the right vibe, that EVE just isn't your game
