pvp in eve is different then other games. in fps games i can be killed, get my gear back and be in next round. in my wow trial it was basically the same, except i was going against people 20levels higher or some crap where i was doing no damage. rts games are the same as fps in the sense taht your there next game without any lasting damage.
EVE pvp is different, its the only game that can have most peoples' hands a shakin from the adrenaline, having trouble pushing just a few buttons. Players that have faced off against a pack of others in an fps game are having trouble hitting f1-f4, control+click and so on.
back when we had more of our guys in eve we used to roll in cruisers out to low sec,0.0 and FW. normally , ****, 99% of the time we ran into fights where we were outgunned and outnumbered. we didn't ***** and whine about it, we did our best and had fun, once we the adrenaline started to lose its effect.
Almost beating a pair of severl hundred million isk nanoships with a pair of 8mil isk cruisers is fun, even if you lose one of the cruisers. Taking on a pack of TRI members in an active tank drake solo, in hopes of buying your alliance's fleet time to reach the fight = fun, even though i did get dropped i lasted a lot longer then i could have ever hoped for considering. Fun doesn't have to be equal numbers or winning all the time. Fun is based on how you percieve things.
A lot of times people screw up and jump into fights where they should know they are going to be outnumbered. Of course if you decide to do it intentionally, that to can be fun. stupid but fun as you try to take out the bait ship or split up their group so you can deny them the advantage of numbers.
try solo, small group and fleet fights in every area. if it doesn't work for you, then maybe eve isnt for you. Its just like me saying wow pvp will never be something i could be happy with. playing the game itself gets old fast but can be a nice break from other games types for a while.
don't waste time playing something you dont like, its not a way to have fun.

wow,clicking the quote button fails. tried it 5 times instead of the usual 2 times and still got nothing.
WOW pvp cannot get that kind of rush. if you do then thats alien to me. ive played fps games before wow and very few times was it any where a fraction as tense as some eve pvp. the more there is to lose the more it kicks in. not to say you need a bs with all t2 gear to get a rush. but eve>css>other games with rapid respawn, when it comes to a rush.
not to s ay that the rush is always fun, sometimes its not and i just want to muck around for a bit and have a laugh. the higher the challenge and greater the loss the higher the adrenaline dosage.:P wow pvp left me frustrated more then anything even if it was kina fun.
being lagged to death sucks in any game. not being able to walk away to take a **** without losing 3 hours of grinding, sucks. so theres good and bad to eve pvp. just like the other types.
to be honest i think the term "pvp" is kinda ghey. online games should be against other players and shouldnt need a term for it.
