Just once in my life I would like to get a fast or semi fast car and just do a couple laps around a track to see how it feels.
Someone would have to loan me a car though cause I'm a truck man through n through.

As noted there are places you can do this for a fee.

The Racing Experience
More to be had. Quick Google will turn up lots.

the track days are pants unless you go in the one seaters, otherwise you have a bloke telling you what to do. no over revving,no dropping down gears!!! bah!
one seater f3 cars the way ahead!! all you have to worry about are the bloody slow drivers in front!!

Fortunately I (posting with alt do to lazyness) hold a nation B grade racing licence, which is why it seems I am going so much faster than the others, I do not need to have someone with me due to the licence :P
Plus the fact it is my own car also helps with this, obviously if you hire a car from the track it will tend to be more dull...
I have done a caterham r500, but yet to try a single seater, will be next on my list I think

I remember doing a Richard Petty's driving experience day and getting 3rd place out of 15 people for lap times. I was happy about that.
