The new mission The Blockade is great but why next to gates...
Is this planned as part of the immersion theory ?
I know that it worries people who are not involved and it also means that other join in even it u dont wont them to. (Thats life i guess and maybe good that people want to help.. )
But is it me that finds missions of about 17 ships in 5 waves a problem next a gate....
Lag due to the cans is maybe an issue but to have ships warp in makes more.....and to jump into a system next to a blood bath and only hears the explosions as you load is a nightmare...
I love the missions , but move them to a moon etc....PLEASE

Yeah, I just had someone "join in" I did not need or want his help...

I thought it was pretty cool, to see 14 cruisers fighting at a .8 gate, but I understand about those ppl who do missions are the people who don't like to deal with others...missions has developed so far as a soloists' occupation, so a lot of ppl who do them want to be left alone.
Also we really don't need to encourage inevitable loot thieves to step up and wait around.
I'm not sure what would be best done about this, but similar missions have had griefing issues in the past, this will be another if no action is taken.

In another space game I used to play .. badguys used to spawn at gates.. then whiners complained and turrets were installed to kill them..making space a pleasure to be in.. boring.
If at all, I think rats should spawn at gates everywhere, stations, moons, planets, good and bad rats..

personally i think it's more exciting to jump into a system and hear explosions going off, much better than boring safe travel all the time. makes me jump up in my chair and quickly think- what sec am i in? did i check the map? get ready to fight or run if it is a camp- then see it is someone hunting npc or doing a mission- whew, bit of an adrenaline rush.
and missions shouldn't be like a single player game. if they take place in this eve universe- there should always be a chance that other players might interfere whether it helps or not.
just like combat- people don't give permission to be attacked or not, you gotta always be looking out for yourself. mining ops can also be broken up by other competing players without giving permission. missions should not be some magical single player game seperate from the rest of eve.

I think this is a nice new edge to the game. But, if anything... please don't do offer these missiosn as much. I think I did 3 or 4 of them in the span of 10 missions.
