It's called an agreement.

PL get to keep their moons (And we might actually defend them if someone is stupid enough to try to take them down, not because we want to save those moons, but because we want to kill the dreads/ships reinforcing them) for as long as they want, and they don't side with Raiden or NCdot.

It's pretty simple really, it's a win-win. It's a free and secure source of revenue for PL (Even if I think they don't really need it), and it allow us to completely dominate the northern regions.

By weakening Team Tech one by one (WN was attacked while they were suffering from internal struggle, Raiden was kinda afraid of having to fight 1.2k+ every day to keep something they didn't want anyway, Evoke is negociating with us to keep some NCdot Tech moons in Venal, and NCdot suffered a moral blow + will loose a dozen moons in the next days), we managed to move from "If NCdot, Raiden, PL, Evoke and WN form a coalition, we will still dominate the subcap conflicts, but we will have troubles with supercapitals" to "We scattered WN, Raiden, we discussed an agreement with PL and Evoke, and we're stomping on NCdot's feet.

You know, if you really wanna talk about PL moons...It's simple. They can't really defend them. We could take those in an evening. All of them. But then PL would get mad at us, and the more we divide our potential ennemies, the better it is. So yeh, we let them have a couple moons (We already have 150+ of those, couldn't care less about a couple moons) as a steady source of revenue and everything works for everyone.

PL has accepted a new contract with The Martini and the CFC!

Terns of the Contract are:

1 - PL is not allowed to shoot CFC pilots in the North
2 - PL is to stay out of Venal Region
3 - PL is not allowed to help Raiden or NCDot in any way

Payment..............The Martini will allow PL to keep the Tech moons they already have in Venal and remain a pet of the CFC ..

Its not a contract its a non aggression pact.

Either side could spend resources trying to take what each other owns, (and stand to lose). So they chose to have a sort of peace.

Being that NCdot is the real enemy (bob clone splinter 6), why have any distractions or waste resources fighting the wrong people.

Diplomats I hear are a new suggested idea in raiden, apparently they help with space politics.

I don't recall goons ever being against blobs, or being powerful, though they do hate hypocrisy of enemies that fight them decrying them.

They don't want someone else getting powerful with tech, so they hold it themselves. I would say its like a super power holding nukes and preventing others from holding them as well.

People who fight in CFC hold stuff, regardless of being a long standing or new member, a pretty big contrast from old NC with many fail alliances holding regions and gold mines and white noise (the not NC powerblock) who held stuff for RMT/getting rich, with little interest to ever fight for it.

Also, pilots who fight for the CFC can be just about anyone, if you can fly a rifter your in, if you can fly drake, you got the standard fleet ship. So its much less elitist, nearly anyone can join.

If CFC and goonswarm are a joke, what would that make other power blocks and null-sec alliances, more of a joke?

On a serious note, why is the scenario you describe such a bad thing? "Well, that's not how it used to be!". The mystique, as you put it, of 0.0 was erased as soon as the area was populated. The same thing happens with anything "new". It's all cool until everyone on the block owns one. The day every system in 0.0 was finally under SOV, the mystique died. Simple fact which your nostalgia for the past doesn't change.

And why is it a bad thing that Goons get a lot of noobs into 0.0? When others try it, their lauded as heroes, They're also derided as misguided, since the general belief is that they'll fail, but they're still looked at with admiration for at least trying.
