I've noticed alot of people have an issue with the Abaddon both ingame and in forums about the usability of an Abaddon in Missions. Anyone who has an issue using an Abaddon needs to go back to cruisers and train their skills over 5 Million SP.
I run an Abaddon for Caldari Navy L4 missions and have no issues, actually I can easily tank anything there and do a decent DPS.
Highs: 7x Mega Pulse laser II
Meds: 4x Cap Recharger II
Lows: 2x Large Armor Repairer II 2x Tech II Damage Specific Armor hardeners (Generally Armor Thermic Hardener and Armor Kinetic Hardener) 1x Capacitor Power Relay II 2x Heat Sink II
And as I haven't really screwed with Drone skills I"m still only sporting Hornet I's
This setup according to EFT pulls 722 DPS, with an effective HP of 50,947 and I can run all modules accept my second Large Armor Repairer II indefinately with my capacitor sitting at 47%.
I also have a setup I run when I know the mission involves easy targets but alot of moving around (Most missons I run this setup)
Highs: 6x Mega Pulse laser II 1x Tractor Beam 1x Salvager
Meds: 3x Cap Recharger II 1x 100MN AB II
Lows: 2x Large Armor Repairer II 2x Tech II Damage Specific Armor hardeners (Generally Armor Thermic Hardener and Armor Kinetic Hardener) 1x Capacitor Power Relay II 2x Heat Sink II
This setup tanks just as well, moves around alot easier and can salvage on the go. I pull a 616 DPS with an effective HP of 50,947 running indefinately with my AB and my second armor rep just on single burst.
I had no issues with Enemies Abound, accept on 5/5 it got a bit hairy but I still did it. I have L4-5 skills for all battleships and in EFT with all setups I've ran the Abaddon out tanks just about every battleship and definately out DPSes everything.
For a twist throw a Cap Booster setup on it and it's good, I just personally dont' like the idea of being too cap heavy and running out of boosters when an unlimited cap setup works just as good.

I take my pvp abaddon and switch a few mods out to turn it into an effective mission ship
8x Mega pulse II (multi/standard/scorch)
3x cap recharger 1x heavy cap booster II (800)
1x Large Armor Repair II 1x cap relay II 1x 1600mm plate 2x EANM II 2x Heat Sink II
3x trimark
switch out the mids with a sensor booster, web and scram, then change the cap and repairer in the lows with 1600mm plates and your ready for pvp.
If you wanted more tank, switch out the EANMs for specific hardeners.

People are griping about the Abaddon in missions?
Weird...it is a fine mission ship and never had any problems with it myself. Even against Guristas.
Add some cap rigs to free up some slots a bit for more flexibility. -------------------------------------------------- "Of course," said my grandfather, pulling a gun from his belt as he stepped from the Time Machine, "there's no paradox if I shoot you!"

1: empty turret hardpoints. fail.
2: pulse not on an apoc? not enough range. fail.
3: 2xLAR. You planning on sitting afk in the mission? Use your beastly dps to reduce dps.

agreed
I've used this setup and it works just fine in all but the heaviest missions.
8x Mega Beam IIs 4x Cap Rechargers 1x LAR II 2x hardener IIs 1x cpr II 2x heat sink IIs 1x rcu
3x ccc's
for the nastier ones swap a heat sink or two for more hardeners

Edited by: Gul Rashen on 31/12/2008 10:09:18 Edited by: Gul Rashen on 31/12/2008 10:08:38 For most Missions i take this one:
[Abaddon, One] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Armor Thermic Hardener II Large Armor Repairer II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Capacitor Control Circuit II Capacitor Control Circuit II Energy Locus Coordinator I
For some Missions i use an AB:
[Abaddon, Two] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Capacitor Power Relay II Armor Thermic Hardener II Large Armor Repairer II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II
Republic Fleet 100MN Afterburner Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Capacitor Control Circuit II Capacitor Control Circuit II Energy Locus Coordinator I
Both Fittings are nearly capstable. I used a Locus Coordinator/cap recharger instead of a CCC/Tracking Comp to get more Cap/s and a higher optimal range.
P.S. I have some Damage and Capimps in my Head

comon guys think some of these setups is just so bad.
why in earht name would you fit a plate on a pve ship = stupid and dual repper is just LOL, who needs that. it is like using xl booster on shield setups you are overpoweirng your tanking and it is just a waste.
an abaddon that is fast and effective and very easy
mega pulses, full rack, scorch and an multif ammo. long and short range good damage
cap booster and cap rechargers in minds.
one repper 3 hardeners 3 heat sinks
3x ccc rigs
you get good dps. you dont need to tank
repper runs forever with guns not online guns runs forever with rpper not online
kill fast and you migh never use the cap booster
i love this ship

Good setup. I just used a 4th cap recharger instead of the booster. Never ran into a situation where I needed to warp out or was in danger of capping out because of the repper. With proper skills nothing lives long enough. Weapon grouping made it even better as now you only have to hit 1 or 2 buttons instead of 8.
Best of the three Amarr BSs for missions, imo.

I generally use:
8 x Mega Modulated Energy Beam I (Radio/Gamma)
4 x Cap Recharger II
1 x LAR II 1 x Cap Power Relay (who needs shields?) 1 x HSII Depending on rats, either an active and passive hardener II of each type, or 4 active hardener IIs
3 x CCC
5 x Vespa II 5 x Hornet II
Cap stable at just over 50%, does most missions well

Some of you will put that in to EFT and die of shock at the cap recharge. Cap has never let me down in every mission there is available. Edging closer to 1000 dps (no drones = 919) at funny ranges. Actually, this is a lolfit, because missions for the Amarr empire are soooo easy you can't stop laughing. With 15 mil SP's directly influencing the ship, are you surprised? Lol what...
Anyways, obvious forumalt |
