I'm at the crossroads of my new pvp life in 0.0 and from what I've found it's best to spec into a certain ship and choose the best skills to compliment it. So here is my dilemma.
BS-V 15 Days Cruiser-V 10 Days Frigate-V 8 days
Where do I head? It looks like I would open up quite a few ships with cruisers, but I've always wanted to fly a Hawk. So I'm not quite sure and was hoping to get some advice from you expirienced pvp'ers out there.
Thanks in advance, Jack

Assuming your support skills are in order just knock out the frig V so you can get that hawk you always wanted.. All those times are pretty short...

Edited by: Lui Kai on 31/12/2008 10:30:38 Frigate 5 is fast, and opens up a lot of useful options (Intys and Cov Ops primarily).
Mainly, it depends on what you're doing most often. If you're well able to afford losing a battleship or 3, and often in sniping fleets, or if your corp/alliance are often in cap vs cap battles - BSV may benefit more.
If you're often in roving gangs on the look for quick pickings, cruiser and frig will benefit more. ----------------

Frigate 5 and Cruiser 5 if you want roaming fun. BS5 if you want capital ships or to perfect your sniper ship.

Why not take 33 days to train them in the following order:
Frigate-V Cruiser-V BS-V

the man's talking sense.
specialisation is all well and good, but until you can fly a fleet BS, a hac and the t2 frigs you've not really got a well-rounded set of skills, and haven't really experienced the different types of 0.0 combat. No one ship is going to be awesome in every single gang and tactical flexibility is far more important than whether you've trained inty V (i did and trust me, there are a host of other cap skills i should have trained first and have since been catching up on!).
remember that in getting a decent t2 fleet BS you'll train a whole ****load of skills which will be equally useful for any ship you get in.
and all that is assuming you've done the boring skills too. the gunnery support skills, tanking skills, cap skills, propulsion jamming - these are all things it's worth spending some time doing. 18 days (or whatever) for energy management V is time well spent.
one thing to bare in mind is that no gang will turn down tackle if you can't fly anything else they want, so do frigs first.
