Edited by: JTNessy on 31/12/2008 11:01:50 After delegating the use of 5 fighters to a ratter, we decided to see what would happen if I docked, there were no warnings, but as soon as I dock the fighters vanish (apparently warp 1000AU) into space. I thought to myself that this was a glitch being that there was no warning, and that surely they would at the very list just stop moving like the rest of the drones. I petition it, and after 7 days of waiting I got a response which was basically "Nope, can't give you your fighters back. Sorry."
How about some sort of warning that those 20M isk a pop fighters vanish when you dock? Or somewhere ingame that I could actually find that out? As oppose to just stealing 100M isk away from me and then making me wait a week for a 2 line response.
Basically, fix the fighters stupid warping off crap or put an ingame warning telling the player that this act of randomness will happen.

Firstly, use one fighter to test this, instead of 5. Major first mistake.
Secondly, if they don't warp out and they just sit there, can they be scooped to cargo hold and recovered/stolen instead?
Also how'd you know they went 1000 AU? Also, I hate the signatures that make you think it's part of their post, only to tell you it's their sig after reading the entire thing. |

Have you tried to verify this 'vanishing' by a directional scan? And if you found them on the directional scan, did you try to probe them down and retrieve them? If not then that's most likely the reason you didn't get your fighters back from the GM: You could have retrieved them yourself and failed to do so.

I believe they go 100 AU, not 1000, however, fighters lost in this manner can be probed out and rescooped.

Edited by: JTNessy on 31/12/2008 22:27:18 A mod told me they went 1000AU, I only have his word for it, and I would rather they sat there and had the chance to be recovered, as oppose to disappearing in any case I wouldn't care if they were destroyed, since it is just as bad as them vanishing, and I find it unlikely that any nearby ships will have a spare 25000m3 cargo or 25000m3 drone bay to quickly steal the fighters

There is no fix to this. You made an area transition, you left you fighters on the other side. It's no difference if you had cyno'd out.

Stop failwhining. Your fighters didn't dissapear they warped off after losing contact with the object controlling them just like a player does if the client disconnects. There are game mechanics in place to allow you to recover the fighters, you just chose not to utilize them.
Next time, don't fail.
