Organization in corp and personal hangers is a nightmare sometimes.
A significant help would be to allow us to create logical partitions in the hangers.
This especially impacts fleet ops where sometimes keeping the loot for an op separate becomes a real headache so dividing it between fleet members becomes more difficult.
Being able to subdivide our mining hanger, for instance, could let us set aside a particular section of our ore to a particular project without having to either put it in the wrong hanger, or tedious note taking by all the pilots contributing.
There would not need to be any new role management or access rules. Simply let us logically partition a hanger to keep things separate. It seems fairly simple and would help out a lot.
I am sorry if this has been posted before. I can't find anything useful with the search. |

There are magical devices called station containers, I suggest you look into it.

Item Tabs
I address this issue a little bit in the thread above. Why not add the tabbing feature that we see in the corp hangars to the item menu. And the cargo container system for sorting your wares is absolutely god-awfully RIDICULOUS. Buy a station vault, that's your answer? Well, they are immovable, so you need to either buy one in the station or construct one there, AND NEVER MOVE IT EVER. This isn't necessarily all that bad. I personally wouldn't mind paying isk for better sorting. Fact of the matter is though, the containers are horrible for sorting. You can't even see what's inside them from your assets window. The only way to check them is to use Grismars can checker, and with as slow as the browser is these days i would rather drill holes into my head. Being able to click over tabs in the items window so that you can sort your items better would blow cans out of the water, and the mechanic is already there!

I just found this the other day, if you open the asset tab in station, it has a station tab.
I it has tabs to sort out modules, charges, etc.
found this to be useful

Yes pls
I would love to be able to sort my hanger without containers.
BTW the point of this forum is to give suggestions to improve the game. The game already works or no one would be playing it. Telling someone to use a bad solution to a problem instead of advocate for a better solution on a suggestions forum is really not helpful or relevant.(The fact that you used to be able to use bookmarks to warp to zero on gates doesn't mean that just making the navigation system able to do it, without a bookmark, isn't a good idea.)
The fact that you can use containers to sort loot doesn't mean you should need to. And the assets tabs isn't what is being suggested here either.
As stated above, simply allowing logical divisions inside a hanger would make it easier to keep things separate when they need to be kept that way and create less headache for people playing the game. And thus, would be an improvement.

Love this idea. Inventory management is starting to bother me. |

Is there a way to see the items in a station container that is not in the station that you are currently in???? |

As for item organization, yes, station containers are great, as would be tabs. Personally though, I would prefer Shrink Wrap (as recommended many many times before). |

If we could search contents of station containers (we can't can we? haven't tested this myself in a long time) in the Asset menu, that would be enough for me.

Edited by: Brand Trent on 30/01/2009 21:02:28 /sign Simply allow the creation of partitions just like the creation of folders for market/notes/contacts etc. |
