As geeky as that sounds...I would. I would love to have a detailed model of my Megathron to sit on my desk at work! Maybe a merchandising suggestion hmmm?

If they were of a decent size and well detailed, i definately would. Like if the models were like 12 inches long at least, well that sort of size, they would rule  I'sd get one of every ship :)

i sure would! there was a dev-blog about this earlier, ccp already did a little test model of a kestral they had pics of. i would love to hear if ccp is proceeding with this idea.

I would definitely go for a Megathron that you paint yourself, especially if it was around .5 - 1 meter long. Or a 5-inch kestrel. Or a Jovian Love Doll...

could you imagine them having a DIY minimatar set. You could give it to the kids at christmas...

Dad: "im sorry son but my shed looks better than ill try and get a refund tomorrow"
*3-7 working days later* (ccp usual response time)
dad: *opens letter*
ccp: dear sir or madam it appears that all the parts for yor flying shed were supplied in the box we can not see the problem. Maybe its a graphics bug with your eyes try getting better software for them.
if you do not respoind to this letter within 2 minutes we will presuume this has fixed your problem.
dad: i refuse to have my son in tears like this. *picks up a handgun eneters his car and drives to ccp hq*
dad: *Shouts at the front of the buildings* OI YOU F*$^%ng wa&*$s fix this stupid s**t present.
* starts shooting at the headquarters post box in front of the building*
*suddenly a huge ship appears above him*
* BANG BANG BANG*
*father lays dead at the front of ccp hq.*
*3-7 days later his wife recieves a letter*
ccp: we do apologise but your husband shot a secure cargo container (postbox) so concord ganked him as we saw this as a very harsh offence. please accept 10% of his body back as he didnt have insurance for the rest. thankyou.
You may petition against this... but we will just refer you to the EULA and the FAQ sections.
this is why i dont think ccp will make the models lol. whole states would be in uproar.
or maybe not lol.

methinks that smallish models would be best make of heavy metal and with a base so u can use em as paper wieghts. I'm thinking perhaps 20cms for the biggest ships but with all the others not to scale if you see what I mean. but yeah brilliant idea. I think I'd be getting a Tristan, Thorax and an Armag ... just cos those are the ships i like the most from each class

The only downside I see with having replica of rocks from the game is that some people would 'accidently' eat the replica of Arkanoid rock at the first sight of it.
And I agree with ship models- I want an INSANELY (even more than the game ones) detailed Apoc/Raven/Crow models made with metal.

If I may make a suggestion, depending on the style of model being planned, it might be wise to offer race packs, for example:
All the standard frigates of one race for say $24.
All the standard cruisers of one race for say $32.
All the standard Bs's of a race for say another $32 bucks.
Or something along those lines.
Basically a way for people to buy em in a bulk format to save a few bucks on buying em individualy, and thus make having a complete set more possible.
You could still sell em in individual packs, too... Say a frigate for $9, cruiser for $12 Bs for $24 Etc.
Of course all prices are hypothetical.
I can say one thing for sure though, unless the model is die cast metal and then numbered and signed by the CCP team I won't pay more than $9-15 for individual frigates ETC. heheh
I'm willing to pay a bit, but even I have a budget you know.

I would purchase them. I would like fully detailed and made of whatever material that will make it look as realistic as possible.

Caldari ships would look sweet with fiber optic lighting.
Especially the Raven.....
I used to have a fully detailed 16in long klingon bird of prey with optics......so realistic looking.
The wings could be moved upward for landing and down for attack.

Plastic is grate have you seen the detail on Gameworkshop¦s models like warhammer 40k and fantasy the detail is awsome

i don't mind what material ccp chooses to make these models- as long as it isn't the stuff that a previous poster used to make his dominix 'model'...
