Depends on Race and where you do missions. Lasers is pretty good against say sansha. Missiles is decent all over, and hybrids is good against guiristas and such.

Minmitar - Explosive+Kinetic+Thermal + missiles too! Amarr - EM+Thermal + some drones. Gallente - Kin+Thermal + great drones Caldari - Kin/Thermal + best missiles in game.
Gunnery - good for specific damage types, but lacking if you need to do anything else than those damage types alone.
Missiles - relatively well assured hits and great range, lower raw DPS but guaranteed effectiveness against resistances.
You can choose your mission, your ammotype, load up and clear the mission out. Unfortunately, you will now need a target painter and a web if you want to use torpedoes and exploit their raw DPS.

Depends in what empire you're running missions for. I would use Minmatar against angels, because they're vunlerable to explosive while having very high em/thermal resists.
Caldari ships are pretty much universal though, because of missiles. ...but on a serious note, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo to autocannons, just no, you'll thank me. Beams are very nice atm, and so are the Amarr BS's. Railguns are nice, and being gallente you'll probably have mass drone support so that's nice too.
In all, purely for mission running, i'd go for railguns, beacuse of the added drone support.
