I've played for years, and I enjoy a good argument so I've often taken a break from EVE to stop by good ole GD and look for some idiot protesting or supporting the latest FOTM or grief of the week.
I've had great fun at the expense of those posting against Suicide gankinng, and those in favor of nano the way it was, and I mean way back before the most recent nerf. I played merrily with those that hate gate camps and those that can't stand war decs. From boost Amarr to kill ECM.
Well here we are, Amarr stand boosted, speed is rational, ECM works but you can't have it and a tank, and thank god it's no longer the single most used midslot in the game. What's left?
Where are the Emotears railing at the doom of their fotm, and or the abused complaining to nerf said same?
Have we finally achieved balance? Obviously there are problems with sov, but no one is calling it great the way it is so no need to whine.. Is this just the wrong forum for a good argument? (Please don't send me to CAOD, It's dark in there...)
Seriously, are all we have left to flame the idiots comparing EVE to WOW?

We're pretty good at the moment, but I'm not entirely sure. It seems odd that everyone and their grandmother has a Falcon alt. |

Eve is "more" balanced now than it has ever been, wouldnt say they achieved total balance though.

Believe me I too know the pain of Falcon, and in fairness I've enjoyed flying with them on my wing, but they are a 1 trick pony, if your opponent plans to kill your falcon you are in a seriously ugly place.
That is if they get it.
However even though they are common as heck, they aren't the required mod that Nos and ECM used to be. I guess I'll have to say bravo CCP, not total balance, that probably isn't possible with a living growing game, but wham, pretty dang close.
Now let me go find a falcon thread I guess...

I know back when i started, people whined about ECM because it was usable on any ship... a worthy item to have for any spare midslots. Now its more that everyone has a falcon trained up; those havent changed a bit.

Oh god you should have seen the missile tears. They were so delicious. Missile spammers were so close to having an iwin button from the speed changes and they got nerfed before arriving on TQ, so glorious.

Gangwarfare (10-40 people in coordinated ships) is balanced quite well.
Actual PVP (as it happens most of the time) Is a out of control BLOB.
0.0 PVP/War has come down on the same thing it has for ages.

Yes, because whilst the majority of ur combat pilots r constantly stuffed up some pos's arse I can freely rat and explore in ur systems easily evading the defending leftovers. 
Also CCP need to nerf something random and long standing so we can have a counter whine to the Falcon and have true balance. One endlessly repeated topic does not a happy troll filled forum make.

Well, the balance is pretty good nowadays, yes. Some issues remain, of course.
- pulse lasers are a bit too good as compared to other weapons.
'
- blaster ships are a (small) bit underpowered
- sensor damps are crap, even on Lachesis / Arazu
- Falcon is much too strong (even within its own ship class: why fly a Rook?)
- many of the faction ships are crap at the moment; either their fittings are ridiculous or their bonuses don't make sense. This mostly because they haven't been touched for years and years while the game has changed.
- Nighthawk grid is ridiculously low, can't even properly fit the supposedly-default modules (heavy missiles + gang link). This makes it crap for pvp.
My own fixes would be:
- nerf either pulse optimal range or pulse tracking a bit
- increase blaster tracking (it fights at ultra-close range, it needs to hit there)
- increase Lach/Arazu sensor damp bonus (or give them range bonuses)
- remove ECM range bonus from Falcon, let Rook be the long-range jammer
- fix the rest of the faction ships that need help (as was done with Phantasm/Nightmare, which was an excellent upgrade)
- give Nighthawk more grid (duh)
...but yes, balance is pretty good now, in general.

falcons are ok the only thing is when you put 3 ECCM that means losing 3 mids slots that should make your ship almost impossible to jamm
i dont know maybe ECCM bust from t1 100% to 130% and t2 from 120% to 150%
