As we the minimater race have gained a new and cruel set of oppresoors (herefoward known as the devs) I Gart Kaliso founder of the minimater peoples front of eystur herebuy urge all likeminded minimater to boycot all any any offical activities, games challenges, events, testing or otherwise assiting in eve in any way shape or form other than the persuit or personal profit until the tempest 1v1 problems are sorted out rather than left to rot in a heap of millions of useless skillspoints.

Sounds like what most players already do. By the way, what are these "events"? I hear rumours of these things, but there seems to be more in-game news than substance to them most of the time.
On a more serious note, hang in there. EVERY good ship in the game has been nerfed at one time or another, some of them more than once. They always come back with a new balance or when people discover something new they can do with them. If you don't believe me, look at the armageddon. "Zero to hero" in a heartbeat.

Yes, alas i've already made that decision and will be embarking on training for another race bs after my next training cycle, that opresive regime imposed by the devs from whom we must all free ourselves.

Tempests still rock. Projectiles are just very skill intensive, unlike missiles. A 3 mil SP player in a Raven will rock a 3 mil SP player in a Tempest but put 12 mil SP players in the same ships and the story is different.
I 1v1ed a Tempest in my Armageddon (currently the Geddon with Mega Pulse is one of the best damage dealers in the game). He was so effectivly shield tanked that he had 75% shield and I had 50% armor (I was armor tanked but still) and this was in 30 seconds. My deffenses weren't optimal, no, but still he was able to TAKE the damage and also deal it signifigantly.

and what do you propose the entire minmater race do while it acumilates 12 mil skills points in order to stand any chance in its own race bs while every other race bs only needs 3 mil or so to be effective? mine like slaves in empire space for a year?
we must overthrow this despotism.

All unhappy Matari are encouraged to find the closest Amarrian. If they follow the Emperor's guidance they will provide you with everything you require to be happy: food, clothing, shelter, occupation, and if you are good recreation.

Funny this post apears when I was just gonna put something about the Devs must not like the minmatar
I rember that whole "freeing the slaves" story. it seemed that every news flash that appeared for those few months just featured stories about minmatar people dying in droves. either through amarr drugs or botched attacks.
Not to mention most of our ships aren't really "preffered" for anything. The tempest had its bit in the light but now it's not good for much but mining.
I have come to feel that when Eve was made there was suppose to only be 3 races but one of the Devs kept insisting there be a 4th race and much to they're dismay they went with this Crazy idea. hence why the matar aren't really... that good
want some of my ideal proof?
1) as far as I can rember in the past year the minmatar have done nothing but die in news stories and hasn't pulled off any of it's attempts at anything
2) Minmatar Ship don't really look like anything. Each race has it's look, but trash rusting ships get kinda sore on the eyes after a bit
3) Typhoon Model. The ship doesn't look like it was ever full finished.
4) Sorry.. but Projectiles blow. anytime they become popular they're quickly and silently nerfed.
5) show me something a minmatar ship does that another races ship can't do better. (than move fast..)

From what Ive seen, the Minmatar frigates are second to none for straight-up combat, since theyre fast and speed is what makes or breaks a frigate fight. From all the backstory and stuff Ive seen, the Minnie's specialty is these fast powerful raider frigates. I agree that their cruisers and BS's are a bit lackluster, but they seem to get the job done. But, as these ships are not their specialty, I wouldnt expect them to be kickass (just as Amarr cruisers suck, the BS seems to be Amarr's favorite). So I guess what Im saying here is, learn to relax and love the changes that are making combat less of a BS-only club.
Not really making a serious point here either way, just ranting and givin ya something to put in yer pipe and smoke.

Not totally True Del. While being fast is great it's not going to be everything.
For instance. take the rifter. a great combat frigate but start to compare it to a Punisher. While the Punisher lacks all the speed it has more powergrid and an extra 2 low slots. Pun's really toss out the hurt now a days while constantly running they're MWDs :)
and amarr cruisers don't suck the maller is a nasty fighter. I used to not like them but I gave it a shot and was very suprised. Also the Omen can do some serious damage if properly fitted

The mm frigs are now good for two things running away and running towards something or other..........I fully expect the championships to be won by pilots in mm frigs who tank up and run like crap, in terms of firepower they are woefull however.

Well i am one of those idiots whom has put close to his 13 mill skill points in minmitar combat only. :(
I cant fly any other ship or fire any other weapon except for minmitar, i tried to be a specialist in one race only and believeing the race to be slaves becomeing mighty warriors i thought they were the ideal choice, oh but look suddenly the universe had some cosmological nerf happen to it once again.
Egg bombing the Devs with my 1400 guns , hehe i know they wont get hit by them since they dont hit anything anymore. :(

I have found a good set up for the tempest. Species can attest to this. 4 1400's 4 Cruise, Large shield booster, EMP Thermal and Explosive hardners, Shield recharge booster, Co-Processor I, and 5 Gyorostabaliser II's. This setup can wtfpwn jsut about anything. I even took a Raven to 50% structure before i popped. If I had just a bit more cap I would have finished him. But this setup can take and deal damage like a mother. Just switch around ammo types to fit your target, ex. for Amarr use kinetic and explosive ammo to take there armor faster than they can repair it. Most everything else use emp and thermal for the shields with explosive/kinetic rounds for your guns. Any suggestions to make this better would be much appreciated :)

There are setups for Tempest that are good setups atm. Are the 1400mm shield tank setups what they used to be? No, but I dont think anyone would argue that. Still there are some very good refits, with the recent Posts on Cruiser 2nd Ship Bonus that TomB has issued, and in light of all the recent tweaks, I am very encouraged that whats not working exactly right will probably be tweaked yet again.
The flurry of Sticky's regarding turrets, missles, ships, cruiser 2nd bonus' etc... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that there is hope for the Minmatar cause. Now, if we can just lobby to get the NPC drops of 1400mm Scouts to increase.

No your right we shouldnt, but our day in the sun will come again...that you can count on. I would say start dusting off your rupture and loading it to the gills with heavies once the chaos weapons systems are installed!

I currently boycott Minmatar battleships and fly frigs and ceptors only.
Who knows , perhaps soon I will extend the boycott to all ships on 2 accounts closer to World of Warcraft release

Still i have to say that my setup would be better on any other close range ship, but the level of difficulty that caused me setting it up got me to the setup where it is today. Also i am sure that there are battleships who would get a better setup without level 5 battleship, and 8+ level 5 gunnery skills and level 5 mechanic skills, navigation skills, and tons others..

That is exactly the problem. Minmatar pilots need 4x the skill points than any other pilots in the game just to be on par with them. Projectile turrets need 2x the tracking mods any other gun does just to hit decently, just to hit! They're a bit better now than they were just after the patch, but they still need some help to get them on par with every other battleship out there.
But that's what happens when you completely alter the game mechanics with every patch over a year into release, stuff gets screwed up and stuff gets imbalanced. The tracking patch went in over a month ago and we're still trying to fix what happened.

Every time there is a balancing patch minmatar ships have most issues.
I remember the time when Typhoon had 2000 seconds capacitor recharge time. It was useless. Took them 2 months to fix it.
Devs have never flown minmatar ships, what can you expect?
Instead of adding more content they would rather remove it by making an entire line of ships useless.
Could be worse though, atleast we are allowed to fly other race ships.

I have a Rifter as a pet project and I must admit that it is one of the best frigates in the game if you like speed and manuevrability. An added bonus is that I just bring a roll of tape and a pair of scissors as 'hull-repairer'.
I wouldn't be caught dead in any of the Minmattar cruisers or bs's though.
Oh, and projectile weapons really suck. the slow rate of fire and low damage compares in no way to hybrids or lasers.

I havn't used my tempest for so long now I think the Tax and M.O.T might have run out by now.  Oh well just have to stick to my Scorp for a bit longer till it gets sorted out.

Obvoiusly you chaps are overlooking your racial advantage on all your ships speed! The Devs obviously want you all to fit 3 MWDs to your BS and to ram thos Amarr and mince them with those larger versions of your 220mm Autocannons!
On a more serious note, I used to love your technology and back to basic style, and Im still much more skilled with projectile weaponry than any other weapon type. But, alas, when your tracking systems in your howitzers got hit by a late form of the billenium bug, and failed to track any more, I was forced to shift to other guns. Console yourselves that you have the best (and most aestheticly pleasing, in my artistic opinion) frigates in the whole know universe. My step-sister regularly kicks my ass In them, and she's been pod linked for a fraction of the time.
