Raised ú140k and spend it on an ad campaign across Britain promoting the high probability of the non existence of a supernatural creator. Also it got Richard Dawkins seal of approval, and to be honest I am surprised that a topic hasn't popped up yet.
Very much in favour of this myself, prooves that Political Correctness still has a way to go before it kills freedom of speach and I just love the sound of people calling this project insulting to religious factions.
Just prooves the point I suppose

I think the main idea behind it is to illustrate how disgusting pro Religious ones are by taking the Atheist point and doing something tame by comparison.
ie the named Christian one delightfully informing people on their website that "non christians will burn in hell".
Why do Atheists get the bad reputation anyway....

There propably aint no God, why don't you join our little club of atheism, if you feel the same. Since when was it a cult, recruiting people from the streets? This is beyond me to be honest.
The general idea is that when you start seeing the non existence of a God as fact, you then see Religion as a con. For me personaly, and probably for quite a few others it is really disturbing seeing people taking something as fact with the proof being the little book in their hands that cannot be demonstrated or is not subject to science.
If you see someone worshipping Santa do you simply let them go or would you point out he doesn't exist? Same thing.

1. What kind of person is going to be convinced by a bus advert. Who even looks at those?
2. What? Who's taking what as fact? Almost everything Jesus said was metaphor, not fact. How do you subject metaphors to science?

1. Well some people do, or at least enough to warrent paying for the ads in the first place. However given the subject it is the media highlighting it that is getting the debate going - which is the aim.
2. Jesus wasn't the only main character in the Bible, let us not forget the supporting cast and his resurrection from being clinically dead and then ascending into heaven.
I assume that "Heaven" wasn't a pub he want to after faking his death to escape the pesky Romans ofc
3. I was born in November of 1990 (my followers please note this for later sending of Pressies). Also I went to this School, guess who my teacher was
