Not the industry revamp we planned for Quantum Rise but there will be changes to S&I related to Tech 3.
... Industry revamp... sounds good
But what about that part you originally planned for QR? Has it fallen under the table or what? |

Originally by: Max Teranous Well considering the amount of content in the previous expansion, the usage of the word "quantum" was pretty apt in that case!
Why do you say that?
Quantum Rise was fairly different from Trinity and Empyrean Age. Trinity and EA were both very fairly monolithic and single-feature heavy (part 1 of renovation and factional warfare) but QR was a collection of a number of smaller features such as Certificates, Weapon Grouping, the Orca, Alchemy and EVE API enhancements. It also contained a huge number of re-factoring and performance enhancements, such as StacklessIO (which was a quantum leap), Jita fixes, EVE64, hardware improvements and UI performance improvements.
Players seem to be enjoying QR (aren't you?); EVE's subscriber numbers are up and we broke the concurrent user record twice in recent weeks, with the latest record at 45,186 pilots online at the same time. All of this enables us to do EVE Online: Apocrypha. |

QR had lots of great stuff, but the non-Orca industrial stuff was being eagerly awaited. When it got dropped from the expansion, I for one got the impression (note I am taking responsibility for my own hopes here, not claiming there was a promise or anything) that it just needed a few tweaks and was staying in the pipeline.
So, it's kind of a heavy blow to learn that it won't even make it into the subsequent big expansion. |

Indeed, the overall game is more refined and feature rich than ever. Quite frankly, I'm very impressed with the overall improvement of Eve in the three years that I've been playing it. Particularly when I see screen shots of beta stuff and hear about all of the old school goofball stuff like cruise missile Kestrels and Geddons with eight heatsinks and so on.
One major issue however is the continued mitigation of non consensual PVP and the prolific dumbing down of the game when it comes to babysitting players and coddling the stupid and the inept. I'd be more impressed with new player records if CCP kept making the game harder edged and more vicious, removing all the hand holding and places for players to escape from PVP like permanent NPC corps and the risk free environment of high sec. Not to say high sec should be removed, just balance the risk/rewards.
QR has messed up more PVP-wise than it has solved, and because of this unless T3 is something spectacular, I don't see Eve holding my interest long enough for me to make it to the Ambulation patch in the summer. |

It never entered programming for Quantum Rise and in EVE Online: Apocrypha the S&I needs for Tech 3 took precedence. |

My bad; I thought it was programmed but not balanced in time, and just needed tweaking. Of course at this late date I can't remember what I was reading when my reading-comprehension flail left me laboring under this misapprehension.

I hope so. I hope some old and new problems get fixed along the way too.
Fix the Nighthawk to actually, you know, fit a gang mod and a viable pvp fit without having to go to Frigate sized weaponry. I know it takes you guys literally years sometimes to adress crappy ship issues/ballance but hey, we can hope.
Realise you overnerfed all missile precision rather too much and further marginalized shield tanking while doing so.
Fix the Stealth Bomber while you're at it, thanks. |

I say that because the difference between the feature list of Quantum Rise and the feature list of many other expansions, for example Red Moon Rising is the difference between night and day. QR had 1 new ship, RMR had 35. QR has 14 features on it's feature page, RMR has 21 features. Further at least 2 of the QR features are more like patch notes. Who on earth decided that changing the production of bombs a bit counted as a major feature?!?
I'm really pleased that eve is continuing to grow and do well. The stackless IO/64-bit server stuff is great, but that's about all that made a difference to me in QR. IMO the server team did awesome in the 6 months from Emperian Age, but it seemed that the content team did pretty much nothing. But lets hope someone stuck a stick up their arse and the March expansion will be great

p.s. aggree with everything that max has said in this thread, and I have posted such similar stuff in other places around the forums since QR came out. QR was a bit of a penial tease for industrialist, considering how much PR there was that it was the "industrial expansion".

So...when will we see the industry revamp planned for QR? This summer? This Winter? March next year? Honestly, lately it feels like the "Industry" expansion will be scheduled for Febutober the Eleventeenth.
And just to head off the folks who call QR an industry expansion - one ship and one change to POS mechanics do not an expansion make.
QR wasn't the industry expansion. It was the "We upgraded our server and here's some new UI tidbits!" expansion. |

RMR's got nothing on Apocrypha then, which is supposed to have 3,500 or so unique ship permutations. Even if they weren't mix-and-match, they'd still be adding like 20 new ships. |

Explorer,
Look at it from the point of view of a 0.0 player, what did EA or QR give us? It made fleet fights work properly....weapon grouping? I'm not saying I don't appreciate the changes, but its not like there was a lot of content..... also, the lack of an industy upgrade after dangling it infront of the carebear's noses is more cruel to the bears thank I could ever be.....
There are things that I think most players consider a priority:
1) Missiles are broken 2) Ships that have been crappy/broken for a long time (or just since QR) need to be fixed (i.e. nighthawk, deimos, arazu, etc) 3) ECM needs to be looked at (I'm not getting into the debate, but I think we can all agree that Falcons != Fun) 4) Industry stuffz 5) ETC....
My advice on Priorities:
Industry Upgrade Boost the "sucky" ships Kill POS warfare in it's current form / redesign the Sov system.
I don't think many would disagree --
