less of a resource hog? from your/their mouth to god's ears
that whole "connected platform and experience" is all you need to hear to shred your hopes.
i dont want an experience.
i don't want windows to give me a handjob while automatically finding and downloading things that 'may' interest me and proceeding to make it easier to add my freezer to my local area network JUST IN CASE i may want to listen to songs i ported from my ipod while i make icecubes and try to figure out what item in the refrigerator is making that ungodly smell.
i don't want windows to run and constantly download updates for 15 different embedded pieces of software i never asked for to begin with. i don't want windows to upload consumer info on me to god knows who so that pop up ads have a 5% better chance of interesting me. i don't want windows pretend to 'enhance' my daily computing needs with one turn and the next turn detecting/crippling/possibly reporting data on my PC it may think shouldn't be there.
i don't want windows so busy doing all of the above it can't keep my important data secure. i don't want windows developers so interested in all of the above when i finally [strike]steal[/steal] obtain the OS and load it on my pc, it barely runs due to the glaring bugs in basic operation that should have been attended to first. (see also rant about security)
i will not run in in my house
i will not run it with my mouse
i will not run it here or there
i will not run it anywhere
i do not like windows vista or 7
i do not like it sam-i-(something that rhymes with 7)
we want a compact, secure and stable os.

and that is why windows sucks and they fail

You want to whine about resource hogging? Whine about how much resources Windows 95 required compared to DOS. Please whine about the 4MB+ memory compared to the 56K of DOS. Yes, you know nothing about the evolution of hard-/software in the past decade or have the memory of a fish.
I can't wait for Windows 7 and if you don't want to use Windows switch to Mac OS and pray that $teve iFail allows you to use copy and paste on your iPhail or old technology (the recent update of the onboard chipsets of Apple PC'$). It was hillarious reading people hailing $teve Fool as the next coming when he finally allowed his brainwashed following to use 500GB external HD's years after their release.
