I've found that setting the EVE executable to XP compatibility actually helps prevent these crashes on Vista64. Allthough I still get the random crash sometimes when closing the second client. Also, if you have Xfire installed, it can interfere with the client sometimes, causing it to lag, or eventually crash.
/edit: Nice work on these themepacks btw, but as said before, T2 blasters would have been nice ;) ______________________

*cough* Ok, veering waaaay offtopic here, but boxcore - the only branch which will show EvEMon tray popups in vista64 - is the only branch that displays vista network/battery/sound tray icons & popups ... it does not support the W7 version of said icons + notification centre right now ... *cough* yes, blackbox was the first app I tried when I installed W7 Beta in a VBox. ... and I really think they should boost T2 plate HP.

Anyway Vista's UI was pretty ass-ish, and Windows 7 is a "refinement" of that so it stands to reason any of the design aesthetics which might have curled your hair in Vista will still be there in 7. Luckily you can turn it off for a more classic feel.
Ah, okay. My sarcasm-detector must be malfunctioning. Anyway, what curls my hair with windows has nothing to do with the UI. |

No just install install it within a Virtual Machine if you want to test it. Try Virtual Box if you want an easy to use VM.
Running it in a VM and is faster than XP and only have 512mb assigned to the VM.

This.
Disable superfetch and total commits are not that far from XP levels, provided you wait a minute or so after boot to let it unload boot-only stuff from memory. I'm seeing 385-415 on the x64 version.
Disk-wise base install seems to take ~9GB discounting VSS copies of stuff and pagefile, which is not small, but still less than what a Visitron64 base install eats. |

Working like in "enter the first screens, launch the station and dedock" (and then crash a few minutes after, maybe, but you got it).
I have had no problems thus far. |

I only had a few Problems with Windows 7 so far:
For those of u using MPC and the CCCP-Project codec pack to play your videos, MPC will, for some reasons, not display softsubs on windows 7, however if you check Autoload VSFilter, WMP will be able to display them.
Another issue I have is that I cant get the TV-Out to work, sadly. Those 2 issues are minor in my opinion.
My last issue is that, for some reason, I cannot install this theme pack T_T, any idea on this one? |

OpenBox is better anyway =)
And I heard the 80s called Microsoft, they want their UI features back (pinned windows ...). Next thing we know, Windows 8 will invent multiple workspaces..

Well...
Logically, every new itteration of a program should be better than the one before it, sadly its not always true (ME, Vista). In vista case however, it's understandable that it would suck a bit because it was the first iteration of the "new" windows.
I do think however that this is a good contender to be better than XP. |

Anyone figured out why it fails to install for some of us?
I noticed a MASSIVE performance increas in EVE over Vista64. Vista is usually 120-130fps while 7 gives me 150-170fps.
And having all drives installed when you install it is pure win, love it!

Yeah if anyone found how to make it work, i would be very happy.
And, lmao, me and my roomate BOTH had 1 partition not showing up (windows detected it but assigned no drive letter WTF?) so lol, who knows. ( we jsut assigned a letter to the partition and it worked, but still, weird :-p )

That's moronic. A theme is purely new skins for existing UI stuff. Or do the Firefox themes you download include a new layout engine?
Being a snob about windows stopped being cool in 1999. Catch up.

just add exefile.exe to the dep exception list and you wont get anymore crashes.
