I came across this while looking for a platform independent (or usable by linux) eve skill monitor, but none of the releases .jar files run. I know I've got java installed properly because I'm able to run the bluej.jar file, but even when i 'cd' to the file that the file is in and run 'java -jar eveswa.jar' it doesn't work.
It's not so much that I'm interested in getting the file work to have the program, but I'm studying java and this is open source so I can take it apart and play with it. It says in the thread that he released the source, but I can't figure out where it would be in all those files....
If anyone could help it'd be appreciated!

Something that might help you is to know that a jar file is basically just a rename zip file so if your un-zip utility doesn't let you open it try renaming it to blah.zip and then give it a try. BTW you might make sure you grab the latest version from the sourceforge link in post 8 seems there a 0.0.4 version of it that you might have more luck getting to run.
If you interested in something that runs on Linux you might take a look at GtkEVEMon I downloaded and built it and it seems to work well. I just wanted to monitoring part so haven't even looked to see if the skill planning part works yet but the basic part seems to work very well.

ubuntu lets me just open it like a folder, that's no problem but all I see inside are compiled .class files, the author indicated that he had released the source code so I'm trying to get my hands on that.
gtkEVEmon is very nice though thanks for that :) |
