Seriously.
The Mammoth is one of the coolest looking ships in the game. It has a command presence. I can't believe it is just a hauler.
I say, make the Typhoon an indy ship and the Mammoth a BS.
Who's with me!?!?!

Well, it is true that design is subjective. But when I imagine a BS that is imposing and threatening...I don't imagine a big floating piece of space-poo liek the Typhoon. I think of a ship like the Mammoth.
I can always dream...right?

Well the Mammoth could be scaled larger.
I can just imagine it with 4 prop. weapons and 4 missiles launcher...boom!
It is doubtfull ccp will ever change it, but it would be great at the very least to have more choices for BS's.

I have to agree that Minmitar ships look more "industrial" in design.
The Caldari ships always come close to looking cool...but then fall short. I kind of like assymetrical design, but it seems a bit much on some ships...but I guess that is subjective.
And you can also see that mose of the ships are very organic and animal like. That may sound redundant, but what I mean is some look like metal incarnations of animals and some are very assymetric and "natural" looking.
Some Caldari examples...
Moa: Looks like a dinosaur. Long neck with slat-like vertebrae.
Caracal: A bird ( i hate this design because whil other caldari ships are bulky, the caracal looks sickly and weak; but I love the punch it delivers!)
Blackbird: Nothing like an animal at all..very military like...I love this ship. Looks like a carrier with the runway cut off.
Osprey: Another bird, witha really butt and a tiny head. At first I hated it, but now its growing on me.
So getting back on topic, the Mammoth looks like the quintessential battleship you would expect to see in a space-faring game. It jsut seems a shame it has been relegated to hauling stuff across the cosmos.

I like the tempest as well. Although I think it could use some structures on the lateral sections for sure...to have some decent profile.
Anyways, the new ships coming out seem to be a nice direction for CCP to go. But I really would to see them offer more choices for BS's and ships in general.
The best part of MMO's is being able to customize your stuff...beyond the weapons and other modules.
