WildCat I always thought the limited signup thing is a joke, there should be some kind of open registration with a longer qualification period to reduce the field down from whatever number of people sign up to a manageable size, say 32 teams. Then you can have a nice weekend of straight elimination to finish the tournament. As for 80% of 0.0 alliances not represented? So what.. i doubt all that 80% ever wanted to compete in the first place. There might be 3-4 big names that are missing.. mostly due to the usual signup hickups, or because of the lack of a proper alarm clock. Whatever the reason, i'm sure that the 40+ new names will more than make up for their absence. I mean, if just 1 out of every 10 from those new teams turns out to be a great team, we already have worthy replacements for the 'big' names.

It's ******ed that the needs of a crappy 50 man alliance are deemed equivalent to those of over 1000 and so 950 more people lose their ability to participate because their ceo decided to take a nap when the sign ups started.

That is so so not a good idea mate (and not cos im in a "crappy" 50 man alliance). I could make 333.3 trail accounts each with 3 toons and im a BIG alliance WOOT!!!!!!! This has been beaten to death in other threads, and while I am pretty sure you are trolling, I will say it again. While the system was majorly flawed in my opinion, the fact remains that the alliances that got in did so by having an executor WHO GAVE ENOUGH OF A ** to do what was necessary to get in. Thats it, plain and simple.

Thats it, plain and simple. Amen. While some of the bigger alliances no doubt applied and got unlucky in the draw (which does suck), apparently a huge number couldn't be assed to sign up on time. Well, sucks to be them. It's not like someone was stopping them from entering -- they just got lazy. Maybe next year they'll organize themselves better. Till then, I'm looking forward to seeing how well we do vs the other "nobodies" in the tournament ;).
