We signed up in time, but due to RL commitments of the CEO, the fee wasn't paid in time. It happens. I am utterly devastated, as are my team, as this will be the first time I haven't been part of the tournament since the first ever toruney. Even with us not there, the lack of BoB, Tri, Razor etc means this looks to be a tourney for the smaller sized alliances.

I was just wondering because it seems like the devs haven't assumed these alliances might not want to participate as they were automatically entered. Back on topic though, i'm gutted to see we didn't make it on the list. I thought we were going to be here to stay since tournament V, but the sign up rate was ridiculously fast! Chronos, i think you and wildcat actually have the same opinion here. You're saying a similar thing to what he said - a lot of largely unknown alliances, and known alliances are synonamous with sov-holding 0.0 alliances. Though i may have misunderstood the acronym, haha. From that list i could only tell you who Atrocitas are. They have two corps i think, but i only know who UWOF are and they were a good PvP corp a few years back when i flew with them. And i'm pretty sure they still are now.

WildCat I always thought the limited signup thing is a joke, there should be some kind of open registration with a longer qualification period to reduce the field down from whatever number of people sign up to a manageable size, say 32 teams. Then you can have a nice weekend of straight elimination to finish the tournament. As for 80% of 0.0 alliances not represented? So what.. i doubt all that 80% ever wanted to compete in the first place. There might be 3-4 big names that are missing.. mostly due to the usual signup hickups, or because of the lack of a proper alarm clock. Whatever the reason, i'm sure that the 40+ new names will more than make up for their absence. I mean, if just 1 out of every 10 from those new teams turns out to be a great team, we already have worthy replacements for the 'big' names.

This has been beaten to death in other threads, and while I am pretty sure you are trolling, I will say it again. While the system was majorly flawed in my opinion, the fact remains that the alliances that got in did so by having an executor WHO GAVE ENOUGH OF A ** to do what was necessary to get in. Thats it, plain and simple.

Thats it, plain and simple. Amen. While some of the bigger alliances no doubt applied and got unlucky in the draw (which does suck), apparently a huge number couldn't be assed to sign up on time. Well, sucks to be them. It's not like someone was stopping them from entering -- they just got lazy. Maybe next year they'll organize themselves better. Till then, I'm looking forward to seeing how well we do vs the other "nobodies" in the tournament ;).
