No second account here, no hauler/cyno/covops/spy/rr alt. Dirk rolls like this I think, a few others I guess, but most pvp and indy peeps have alts out the a$$ I've seen.
Metagaming alt city = candy a$$ mode.
No alt = EVE hard mode. Flame on you metagaming girly boys.

My primary combo: Primary / Utility / Hauler
Primary: Does whatever. From missioning, mining and pvp
Utility: Hauls minerals, gang boosts, provides extra drones, fields extra guns when need be, etc
Hauler: Hauls the loot for missions (does other things to, but thats the only thing revelant for a combo.

I've got 4 industry packhorses, but I have my combat main who is skilled mostly in combat stuff and some invention-related skills (strangely enough).
Then I've got my Industry main who I've just started skilling in basic combat stuff (just hit ravens and torps), has mostly maxed relevant mining, hauling and science skills.
That said, with all my alts, these days (though I've done it long ago in the past) I never use 'disposable' alts so-to-speak. All my alts are skilled in some respect, and I need them all.
As for hard-mode no alts stuff, well, while multi-accounting is one thing, I figure if CCP gave me three character slots for my dollars, why wouldn't I use all three?
Some people have also queried in my time "Why train one character on one account in flying a certain type of ships, and train another in flying different things, just train it on the same account".
Best example against this is relocating, especially to somewhere that may not have a station in deep 0.0. I may want, for example, a Raven and a Megathron out in deep 0.0 20 jumps away. With one character I need
- Somewhere safe to stash the ship I took there first.
- 60 Jumps.
With two characters I just take 40 jumps and I don't need a safe stash point, I just jump out there, log off, log in new character and go again. It's much more flexible.
