Mara Rinn	Posted - 2009.01.13 04:27:00 - [6] The Dominix is brutishly ugly. It's also a decently powerful battleship. I think it is an inspiring design. I don't see anything wrong with Gallente designs, apart from the Iteron V which looks like it should snap in half if you sneezed on it.

Personally, I love the ship designs in this game, especially Gallente, all of whom have this rounded, organic feel. Spaceships shouldn't all be sleek and symmetrical, as this seriously limits the amount of designs that can be done. What some people want is to fly an X-Wing, but this simply can't be done because of copyright, and there are only so many times you can design similar ships before they start to infringe. Frankly, if every ship looked 'cool', it would get stale very quickly. George Lucas took the same approach with his designs for Star Wars. What is now iconic started off as weird and bizarre looking. The Milleneum Falcon is an 'ugly, assymetrical' ship, as is Slave I, and these are both ships that have become iconic. Even the TIE fighter is a bizarre design. Look at the designs that George Lucas and his team came up with, and look at the designs in EVE, and tell me that they do not show the same level of imagination and individuality. To me, this is far more important than trying to be something else. Trying to look cool is always a fail in my book. You become cool by showing individual style, not by copying others.

Maybe one day we will get a new revision of it like when they release a new ford escort, similar ship just looks different. then people can choose which model they preferr.

The textures on the front of the Dominix are all over the shop, they don't match or connect, you can see seams where the texturing stops and starts again. Especially the Lachesis/Arazu, those should have been done in a sleek metallic cover, like the Exequror. What the hell CCP?

The thing that concerns me more is that most of big ships dont give the idea they are BIG. Yeah the random mini lights should give the impression they are, but when you think about it and look at some models, they look reather ridiculous. The impression of big should be in something else, as mentioned, try to look on simple starwars design of their ships. If you look on imperial cruiser, stardestroyer or so, you will immidiately have the impresion the ship is huge ( not only because of its city-like surface
