From one mercenary to another: Grow up.
Your duty is to the contract, not to your egos. I know Andreus well, and one thing he most certainly is NOT is stupid, despite what his critics may claim. That carrier, I fully guarantee you, will remain securely docked and under close guard, because he's not dumb enough to fly it into combat out of ignorant pride. Especially not when he knows damn well just how many people would love to gloat about its' demise.
Besides, the Black Sun is configured as a logistics platform, not as a combat ship.
A mercenary is a professional - polite, efficient, impartial. Their job is to shoot who their employer tells them to shoot and to keep it businesslike. "Nothing personal" lies at the heart of their creed. If they can't do that, people begin to question their neutrality, and you lose potential customers.
If you can't resist the urge to taunt and insult your targets, if you preferentially choose your contracts out of personal dislike, if you absolutely MUST open your career with a shameless attempt to compensate for your hilariously shriveled genitalia via petty taunts, then you aren't deserving to call yourselves mercs. You're just ignorant, greedy thugs.
I won't wish you luck, seeing as you're fighting a friend of mine and a corp stocked with good people. Good hunting to MXD. |

Would anyone like to make a wager as to the outcome?
Absolutely. Twenty million on MXD to win.
For the purposes of this wager, I define a "win" as their achieving better than 50% efficiency over the duration of the war. Because we know for damn certain that UAT are going to claim victory regardless of the outcome.
And of course, in the event that they do the sensible thing and sit around in the warm drinking spiced wine and watching the holofeed, then all bets are off.

Originally by: Ferocious FeAr Statistics mean nothing. The day you refer to numbers as a successful campaign is the day you've conceded to the opponent.
Well, if you were looking to grab your own chunk of nullsec, or you were fighting over a particular blueprint or something like the last remaining Imperial-issue Apocalypse, then you'd be right.
But you aren't. You're high-sec mercenaries, or at least you're calling yourselves that. In the hands of another corporation, it'd be a perfectly respectable career, but you don't even seem to understand the basics.
aside from the whole "neutrality and proffesionalism" thing, being a high-sec merc means that you have two - and only two - objectives: "do more damage to the other guy than they do to you, for pay", and "Stop the other guy from effectively doing what they want to do, for pay".
Given that what MXD appear to want to do right now is to fight you, the only way to claim victory is to have better statistics.
Like I said, though, you're the sort of people who'll claim victory just because you got the other corporation to undock and fight you, even if you all wind up stepping out of a CRU two minutes later. You don't appear to understand that their willingness to fight reflects well on the character of MXD, not on any "talent" you lot may have for merc work. - Captain Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

My bet was with Silver Night. if you win, the money goes to HIS wallet. Or are you too thick to understand the concept of a wager?
Quote: Andreus has decided to remain docked and allow his pilots to fight his war for him while he cowers in station...
*Stitcher grins maliciously*
The "Black Sun" isn't his combat ship. Just because that's staying docked doesn't mean he will.

Originally by: Andreus Ixiris Actually you've just wasted your money, I plan to stay in station all week.
Predictable, as usual.
Obviously Stitcher stopped reading everyone elses comments and concentrated on the sound of his own typing...
Hey, if he does, all bets are off and I don't lose anything.
let's just say that I'm not convinced he was being serious. If he was, then all credit to him for putting his feet up and letting you waste your time. - Captain Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

I don't think we need to be quite that formal, Ms. Grunthor. A gentleman's agreement should suffice. - Captain Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

see, there's the problem. I don't think anybody takes these rejects seriously enough to place their hard-earned ISK on it.

Captain, thus far nobody has placed bets whom I feel is untrustworthy, at least so far as a friendly bet goes.
No offense intended, but why should I entrust my money to you when I can just keep it in my wallet to be paid out or kept as appropriate? |

Originally by: Indignant Assault Fear was a director in Mercenary Coalition, do you not think he is fully aware by now of what Merc'ing is all about and the absolute *******s involved in the propaganda of Merc work?
Tell me... If reputation doesn't matter, then why are you namedropping the fact that one of your directors is ex-Mercenary Coalition?
I could gloat about my own achievements - about the fact that in the entire history of the MC's career, only one other alliance ever succeeded in fighting them to the point where the MC was forced to extend a contractual deadline. That alliance was the Freelancer Alliance (FLA) and I was, at the time, it's senior fleet admiral.
Now, we still got kicked out after a long and bloody fight which left every last FLA pilot with nothing to fly at the end of it all, but if anyone can legitimately claim to have ever "beaten" the MC, we can. I found Mercenary Coalition to be a polite and professional group of pilots who were entirely worthy of the considerable respect I held them in, and to this day still hold for their memory.
You're not impressing anyone by yelling "hey look, we have a former MC pilot". Instead via your juvenile behaviour, you're insulting the memory of as honourable and as worthy an organization as I've ever encountered.
((OOC: NeoXatrix, this is the IGS, which means In-Character. What's this "game" you're talking about? might want to tweak your post slightly, mate.)) - Captain Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Originally by: Spyra Gryra Hey Stitcher, you fancy that bet I posted earlier? Should be an easy 50million ISK if you really believe MXD are that good, so how about it?
Depends. Confident as I am, I'm not really rich enough to afford to place fifty million on anything. - Captain Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |
