I hate that I have opened yet another falcon thread, but I was looking to get some info from CCP directly so that everyone can have some pure facts. This thread is not for Falcon flame-boys or fan-boys to stat their OPINIONS.
CCP... there is clearly some hot debate about just how powerful the Falcons are - either as a single ship or as a force multiplier in fleets. There are decent "discussions" on both sides of the fences, and suggestions from both camps as well on how to possibly fix the Falcon (assuming in that case that a fix is really what is needed).
CAN CCP PLEASE PROVIDE SOME RAW DATA AND/OR ANALYSIS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF FALCONS:
1. JAMMING SUCCESS RATE- AS AN ARROGATE NUMBER AND THEN FILTERED BASED ON THE TARGETS SENSOR STRENGTH VALUES (IN RANGE GROUPS PERHAPS).
2. THE SECOND DIMENSION OF ANALYSIS NECESSARY IS HOW LONG FALCONS ARE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE ENGAGEMENT DUE TO THEIR BUFFER LIMITATIONS - EITHER DUE TO LEAVING THE FIGHT OR BEING POPPED. PLEASE PROVIDE A STANDARD DEVIATION CHART SHOWING THE TIME DURATION FROM WHEN A JAMMER IS FIRST ACTIVATED ON A FALCON TO WHEN THE FALCON EITHER WARPS, GOES CLOAKED OR IS KILLED.
THE DATA MINING CAN BE DONE VIA A MICRO SAMPLES (BUT LARGE ENOUGH TO BE A REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE BASE) OF A FEW ENGAGEMENTS WITH FALCONS, OR, IF THE DATA IS AVAILABLE THEN ACROSS ALL FALCON ENGAGEMENTS OVER A LARGER PERIOD OF TIME.
Can anyone else suggest some slices and dices of data that when seen in conjunction with the other views would shed some light on how balanced they are.
I would be more than happy to process the data into several angles of information using common stat analysis tools if you can provide the raw data?
If we can get this information, it will be proof positive to both the user community and CCP about just how successful the Falcon is and we can end the debate about once and for all if a nerf is required...
To nerf or not to nerf, that is the question. Only HARD FACTS will clear this up.

The funny thing is many thought the falcon was too powerful before its range was effectively doubled. I say give the caldari the falcon, what else do they got for pvp... |

The falcons ability to jam is a matter of simple math.
The ability to resist being jammed is also a matter of simple math depending on base sig str + any modifications like eccm ect...
The operational range of a falcon/ecm ship is dependent on the situation ie: a camp can have 200km bm's while a roaming gang will be engaging at closer ranges. |

Changing in tactics and education is the only fix required.
Falcons fit within the eco system, it's just that some players refuse to understand that their particular ship won't be combat able in ALL scenarios.
Looking at the sub-capital ships with higher sensor strengths shows them to be weakly armored and having little in regards to shields. Those ships with great offensive capability in DPS and/or large buffers of armor and shielding have less sensor strength.
My belief would is that the EWAR nerfs should be rolled back for NOS and RDS to help combat the problem, and making it so that Falcons aren't the ONLY viable EWAR item.
