That is a pity. It does however mean that the people who you are with in IRL are not really your friends, being apparently biased towards transexuality as you allege they are. Let me ask you this - Would you find it necessary to tell any of them about your preferences ? As you say you are a Pansexual, why would it matter in this game ? Is it because you feel you would like to express romantic feelings towards some of them and are afraid of the rejection that may arise from this ?
All I can say is that it is a very bad idea to become in any way romantically involved with anyone in any MMO or online for that matter.
If your 'friends' cannot accept you for who you are, they truly are not your friends. let me say again, I don't give a damn about a person's sexual preferences. If however you were a guy and made a pass at me, I would tell you once and once only "Not me" and you and I would remain friends, assuming you respected my two words.
The reality of it is that if you did tell your friends about yourself, perhaps 2 out of 5 of them would accept you for who you are, 1 would outright "disown" you and insult you, the other two would pretend they did not care but would secretly laugh at you behind your back. Such is humanity.
Believe in yourself, period. As long as you don't maliciously insult or otherwise stalk people in real life, you're a person same as any other on this Earth.
But wait there's more (arrrgh) - Wait for the religious nutters to start spewing the wrongs and the horrible futures their respective Deities have in store for you. Go figure. It's 'ok' as long as they can point out it's wrong in a book put together by men. That goes for most Monothist Deitic religions.

EVE is about flying spaceships. Sexuality should not make any difference here.
Simply join a corporation, make the acquaintance off the corporation members, and when they know, you are a relyable person and it's fun to play together, you might let know them casually you're gay - if you want to do so. In case your corpmates are not homophobic a###[zensored]###s, everything should be fine even ather telling them.
I'm not asking for "hiding" .. no ... just do not make a big deal out of it. Because it's private and ... again : EVE is about spaceships.
I don't care about the sexuality of my enemies in EVE. He /she might got shot anyway

I think both you and Krixtal Icefluxor are right in saying that I shouldn't be friends with those who disagree with it. Although I think my biggest problem is trying to explain it to them, as most people are quite stubborn in the belief that there is two rigid genders. Though some of my closest friends know and accept it which I'm happy with - most of us are far left wing and a few don't consider themselves 'male' or 'female', so it doesn't tend to be a problem. It's just you always get those few that are hell-bent on causing trouble and sometimes it's easier to aviod it then confrount it. But yeah, i'll take your advice on board 
As for the religious view, I study Theology and the Philosophy of Religion so I've generally been able to put down quickly any hate that comes from that side of things (which is very infrequent, only the vocal minority that tends to be outspoken against things like that) |

If you are gay and play you better keep quiet about it, because you will get lots of response that you don't like, especially when you are called homo in local and you tell people you're tired of it, as I did.
This game is totally unfriendly to non-males in terms of language used in local chat. If you find a good corp and you develop thick skin about everything being called "gay" and everybody who won't fight being called a "homo", you'll be fine, until you finally get sick of it. But if you do get sick of it, just leave the game. Don't bother trying to change this community.
"Grow a vagina" is another favorite phrase. R a p e is the favorite word of many players here. Not unusual for internet game boards of any kind. But pathetic nevertheless. |

4 accounts, 5 Toons. Never really had an issue on the Forums. But the Local Chat n EVE isn't the most intelligent for sure.
