While taking a little stroll to Dodixie to see if there were any WTs in system, I came across this sight outside a station there.
Noob Ship Pile
Note that I only have my overview configured to show only war targets, so having 17 ships that shouldn't be there is slightly annoying in itself. However, the main issue I have with this is that it's placing additional load on the servers to keep all those ships there in what I can assume is an attempt to confuse the people that are camping the station. To me, this is only slightly different than dumping a whole bunch of shuttles in an attempt to cause lag.
Has anyone ever found out what CCP's stance on this is? It's not like a few additional unmanned ships are going to make the node crash, but it certainly does seem to be deliberately done, whether to cause lag was the reason or not. It certainly would be nice to have the option to remove unmanned ships from your overview as well, but that may require a bit of effort to pull off on CCP's part.

Back before I got into Factional Warfare, when I came across an abandoned Velator, I'd board it, fit it for pvp, and go harass miners with it until it exploded.
Got lots of kills that way, actually.

This is why devs created the Orca Actually, and Orca might also have created that one |

Normally I would do that, but since I don't feel like incurring the wrath of CONCORD for blowing up some abandoned velator, there's not anything I can do about it. Maybe all that CCP needs to do is let us shoot any abandoned ship no matter who it belonged to. It's not like they're coming back for it, right? ---

Oh, didn't realize abandoned ships showed up with wartargets only setup on the overview. |

Came across this one night as I was scouting through some low-sec systems, none of them manned just all sitting there in space.

I can only imagine that is an attempt to prevent cloaking and decloak ships, as well as possibly cause issues with warping in and out.

war targets, war targets never change, if you remove neutrals it won't show war targets either.

Dropping large quantities of shuttles/noobships/cans like that to create lag can be petitioned as an exploit _____________ I don't care what is nerfed, as long as it's not my "undock" button. |

I think the issue isn't noobships in space, it's because unmanned ships can't be filtered out effectively from the overview. A sorting option for those should probably implemented.
Besides that, iirc noobships and shuttles do get cleaned up like other unclaimed containers and drones once a month or something. |
