Thanks for the TL;DR version.
From my EVEperienceÖ, there are many people who have used their in-game acquired skills in supply chain management, share trading, margin trading, people management, organisation and leadership both from playing EVE and through interaction with other EVE players.
Looking forward to seeing some videos appear. |

Eve has lessened my career prospects since I failed exams because I was playing it. I have since learned that as soon as you start taking games seriously, bad things can happen (e.g. delusions that playing Eve will give you transferable real-life skills).
Seriously though, is this marketing's bright new idea to bring new players to Eve? To sell the concept that Eve can enhance your employability, in a time when many people are unemployed? Simply awful |

I think you probably failed your exams not because of eve per se, but because you didnt work at passing them. If it wasnt EVE you'd probably have been distracted by something else - like cleaning fluff out of the tumble dryer or something.
Personally EVE got me interested in a lot of IT related subjects, and as a result I can now understand (at a superficial level at least) some network concepts, web design and so forth. I'm not sure its made me any more employable but I have learnt some knowledge as a by product.
Wether EVE develops additional skills (management, leadership etc) is somewhat doubtful in my opinion and in some case I imagine people put more 'work effort' into EVE than they do in their day jobs simply because its a darn site more interesting. In simple terms would you rather be working on the stationary budget for a firm who couldnt give a t*** about you - or selling Heavy Assault Cruisers in deep space?

This is when you know the OP is troll-worthy.
Even funnier that it's CCP. Seriously, can we get some clarification here as to why you want these? Otherwise, tell marketing to get off their asses and do their job cause we're not gonna do it for them. |

That depends. Are they going to pay me the salaries from marketing? If so I might be inclined. |

Would CCP need lawyers? If you've posted it on You Tube is it not publicly available and therefore you've essentially given up any rights to the footage?

It is a little yes tbh and being blunt I am quite guilty of calling them myself on occasion but usually when I've had far more beer than I probably should have when in charge of a keyboard.
The world and even more importantly the community has changed in its attitude and its general behaviour from the days when there were 2000 of us ****ing about in cruisers thinking we were uber and the devs were almost like mates you could chat with on the forums when they did infrequently grace local with a presence or the forums with their omnipotent avatars.
Personally I don't know the motivation behind asking for this material but trying to second and triple guess CCP and then flaming them for that seems perfectly in line with the forum community these days :p

I'd love to donate my stealth bomber hit and run vids and give walkthroughs...but I refuse to since CCP nerfed the crap out of them, even if it was only a unwanted side effect, until SBs get some kind of boost I refuse to make any contribution.

Thank you for the suggestion on making a competition and our own videos about this, I shall pass those ideas on.
With the alliance tournament in full swing our channel on Youtube has proven to be very popular.
Originally by: Destination SkillQueue What is the purpose of this initiative, why do you need the videos and why would anyone, that has an edge over others, give specific info about his operation?
We are not asking for videos showing how players manipulate markets for instance, we are looking for how EVE has enhanced your life or career. We are not solely looking for people successful in business, it may be that you got a promotion at work or a new job because of skills you acquired or contacts you gained in the process of playing EVE.
More details of the project will be posted later today. |

LMAO! How EVE has enhanced my career or hidden abilities??!??
Your game is great. It's actually so great that you should know that some people most probably have lost their wives, house and lives over this game. I cant hardly think that as an enhancement in ones career ;)
Actually when I think of it, I guess EVE was the spark that ignited the fuel under Iceland's federal reserves. When the last EVE-bank-owner legged it with all the cash, that was the drop that made the rest of us NEVER EVER again to trust any bank with bonds to Iceland. So bye bye Kaupthing, etc, etc.
YOU CAN BLAME IT ON YOURSELF!! (can I have your stuff?)

Yes, your real life selves on video.
There have been some quality ideas expressed so far and it would be great to see them turned into vids.
The real life experiences do not necessarily have to be just work based, maybe you secured your university place thanks to EVE? Podding your tutor is generally not the best idea!

We'd love to see videos about players that chose their career route because of something they picked up in game. We know that a number of players are city traders in London and EVE has appeared in the Financial Times, Fortune and other major business media outlets.
