Is this guy insane??
http://www.itv-f1.com/news_article.aspx?id=44938
Incase you cannot get the link or you cant be bothered to look...
Bernie's latest outburst suggests that because F1 teams have agreed to cut costs, they should get a lower amount of the revenue / profits...!!!!!!!
The idea of the cost cuts where to help the teams survive in the economic downturn and to encourage new teams to join, if the 'profits' are cut inline with the cost cuts, the costs cuts would mean nothing....
Please somebody anybody boot this man from office, he is clearly only thinking of his own pockets rather than the future and security of formula one!!
This is the same guy who is trying to introduce a medal system to take over from the current points system!!
I say get him out and get him out fast, maybe Mosley isnt so bad after all, well in terms of the security of F1 anyway...

Exactly, the only people who give a damn about F1 are the media because they mistakenly believe that people watch it. If it weren't for the fact that it's the only damn thing on TV on Saturday, NOBODY would watch it. Watching men drive cars around a track repeatedly is as tedious as watching a hamster trying to thread a needle.

There are people who genuinely enjoy watching F1. Not me, but they are out there
And on the subject of Bernie Eccleston, I always picture him as a little goblin sitting cackling atop a huge pile of gold coins. |

Agreeing with the OP. Ecclestone is an idiot, all he cares about is his personal profit. Case in point, he pulled the US Grand Prix at Indy off the schedule because Tony George wouldn't pay him enough money for Ecclestone to consider keeping it there. Indy WAS a pretty good draw for a Grand Prix (despite the 2006 tire SNAFU) Bernie, seriously, go DIAF.
I do not see why man should not be just as cruel as nature. |

He also tries every year to scrub silverstone off the track list. Thankfully all the drivers love it and we brits would burn him at the stake if he succeded.

F1 seems to be a bit more exciting than Nascar, at any rate. _______

I'll be honest. I don't care about Formula One or Nascar at all simply because they do nothing but drive around in a big circle.
Now, if the tracks where more like the ones in racing games such as Gran Turismo I'd enjoy it more. Instead we have, "Hes making a left turn! I've never seen such an awesome sight before... wait... I DON'T BELIEVE IT! HE MADE ANOTHER LEFT TURN! OMG WOW THIS IS THE BEST RACE EVER!"
Fact: People only watch racing in its current incarnation for the wrecks. --- My cat Putter approves of this post. |

F1 has no 'big circle' circuits in the calender, only Nascar.... which is why Nascar suck in comparison to F1, F1 drivers can drive and have skill... Nascar drivers suck tbh

NASCAR is damn exciting. After all, everyone needs some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

Guess that shows how much I pay attention to any kind of motor racing. I should check out F1 then if they don't do the stupid circle thing. --- My cat Putter approves of this post. |

2008 season.
One of the best seasons I have seen for a long time. The championship was decided on the last lap of the last race in the second to last corner. It was a truly epic race. |

Unless you enjoy watching qualifying..... Races are on Sunday, not Saturday.
Also, do you know what the Indy 500 is? I forget whether it's 500 laps or miles, but anyway, it's a lot of people driving around an oval track (yes, that's right, one continuous left-hand corner). For 500 miles/laps. And apparently it's one of the biggest "sports" events in the US at least...
Personally, i also don't really like this business of kicking balls at random for 90 minutes on some grassy knoll in the middle of nowhere. But i guess that's just me.
Also.... I do have to say that it is a sport, F1 anyway. You won't be able to drive an F1 car at all unless you have a fair bit of actual racing experience, and even then you're more likely to crash than actually make it around your first corner, not to mention the mental exhaustion of being forced to concentrate so hard for an hour and a half. F1 drivers are probably as fit as, if not fitter than most top athletes in the world. Same goes for most other racing disciplines, including Nascar admittedly, but not as much given the average ages and levels of fitness ;) |
