edit2:
Originally by: Eestaan The only thing that matters in the end, is if the employer are happy or not. Killboards does rarly tell the entire truth anyway, and there might be some hidden agendas in a contract as well, that the employer want to keep away from the public.
Second guessing a mercenary effectivness, is rather pointless, unless you know their specific goals in a contract.
This is also very important to take into account

Actually, it does. All losses and kills found there can be found on the C-A killboard (I just cross-checked every one). If you did not pick this up, methods payed giant squid a navy mega to join in the war, and proceeded to fly large battleship fleets with falcon support at times. Of course, a battleship engagement where we were outnumbered we were hesitant to engage in unless it was done right, and when it happened, we came out on top side versus side. Now, we may not have killed many or any of the squids in these fights, but we killed more methods by far than we lost. So if you look at it at a squid + methods versus crushed ambitions point of view you will find much different statistics. Sure, giantsquid was involved in more of our losses and we didn't primary their ships as often, but we still blew up more ships side versus side in fleet engagements. A couple of the losses were also a result of complete idiocy on a couple of our corp members - they have learned to avoid making rash decisions and thinking that station docking mechanics will work 100% of the time. And even though this shows we weren't perfect, no corp is perfect in everything - someone screws up at some point in time. But unlike some others, we make sure we learn from our mistakes so that they don't happen again.
I would also like to point out that one of those losses was a supposed 1v1 (1 of anndar's battleships) that methods claimed he had violated the 1v1 and proceeded to gank the ship. Another time, I challenged a methods thorax to a 1v1 thorax v thorax. When I popped out ecm drones, methods fleet jumped into sys and arrived on station in mass. Even though my opponent got me because my ecm drones missed a cycle when methods jumped into sys and I tried to bug out, they claimed that ecm drones are gay and was cause for 1v1 to become a 15v1 (seriously wtf its only a cruiser).
At this time I would like to say that Giant Squid, however, follows 1v1, and in my experience can be trusted to follow 1v1s. Also, three of my four losses were done AFTER the war had been over. I was talking to theassignment in convo and we were both bored, he fit t2 on his ships, so I lost (just a couple t1 cruisers, maybe lost a couple mil). These losses thus are not representative towards our corps stats during that war.
In conclusion, we may have lost more than killed giant squid, but when it was giant squid AND methods of mayhem in one fleet against us, you will find that we still came out on top. Like Severice said, you have to look at the bigger picture.
Nevertheless, we get the job done. And that is all that matters.
Cheers, Cal
