Agents will only send you a set number of systems away from their home base. Find an agent you can use deep in high-sec. The mission reward will be slightly lower, but mission reward is nothing, salvage, loot and bounty is where the isk from mission running comes from. You also then won't lose your ships in gatecamps

Ratting is a poor way of making isk outside of 0.0 space. You may get lucky and get a faction spawn, but the chances of that happening are next to zero, meanwhile you're wasting your time on low-bounty trash spawns.

Join Eve Uni. You may have to wait a while if they're wardecced, but simply the smartest corp a new player can join. Anything you want to know about eve they'll teach you.

Become one. I'd estimate about 1/3-1/2 of my isk comes from salvage. An average level 4 will net you (depending on faction) maybe 5-10 mil isk in salvage
