In a 1 vs 1 frigate fight, what will be the best way to counter an energy neut/vamp on the opponents ship?

Two main ways to counter neuts is either fit a capactor booster or use range. If you can kite outside of the opponents neut range, his ability to beat you is greatly reduced.
Fitting a cap booster should hopefully buy you enough time to overcome his tank before running out of precious cap yourself.
These are the main two, there are others as I'm sure others with want to point out. |

depends also on what boat is neuting you. if you got a domi with 3 med & 3 heavy neuts on you you're pretty much done. this is countered by ships with weapons that do not require cap. |

Please note as per my 1st post that in this case I am referring to frigates and frigates only. |

Indeed I tried jamming with a 'Hypnos" Multispectral, but still he was able to neut me. |

I'd go for the jam.. pretty much the only real way to counter.. nos won't replace enough of neut.. breaking range does nothing if you have to he that close to engage anyhow..
Cap boosters.. I hear 75 work if you hold cap at magic 36% stable.. where his nuet does not do enough to cap before booster hits I guess..
Neut of your own... Run.. Think that bout covers it. |

on frig level use web/scram to get the range, tho a single nos tends to be enough to keep ur web/scram going (using missiles/projectiles) if the other has but one neut. sentinel, meh ur ****** if ur dont get close quick enough. |

As above, also you have the option of turning on your Energy Vampire, just after the characters starts cycling his neut, and suck a bit of power back. Good luck trying to get that one right though, very difficult, but very satisfying if done right. |

Use a buffer/passive tank with capless weapons.
Use as little active mods as possible. Try to power you scram with a small nos. Another way to shut down his neut is to neut him dry yourself.

Given a 1v1 frigate fight where the other ship is a frigate, then use a NOS or a capacitor booster or both.
The other option given the opponent is a frigate or a ship using a small neut, would be to web them and orbit towards max scram range (which is typically under web range).
Remember to overheat web and scram to increase the range of each.
Thank you.

From what I have learned recently in the past week or so, the best way to counter neuts in a frigate battle is range. A Dramiel with a kiting range will surely outperform a neut frigate. |

A kiting slicer also fits the bill. |

Use RACIAL ECM, not multispectral, if you know what ship's race he flies... |
