Has anyone else ever had to take a few days off to get over their laughing fits at the princesses who call "coms, coms" or "break, break" during a relaxed conversation in teamspeak or vent with multiple participants even whilst docked or far, far away from being in combat?
Like, perhaps many of you, I came to this game from a wide experience of many other MMOs and really enjoyed the higher age range of players in this game. Unfortunately it is a great mistake to expect to meet the cream of maturity in an MMO as my experience with EVE has shown. Age it seems has little relation to maturity, especially when an internet game is taken as the benchmark.
I don't need to say who you are - if you are angered by reading this then you already know who you are.

Well, when i did use vent, i had to turn it on mute half the time because people kept talking about football or being, in general, annoying.
Especially fighting like little children over some minor detail about a fit or some such. |

The biggest plus on EVE is that 80% tends to do stupid n weird stuff on TS/Vent being DRUNK
Which makes it a lot better than annoying kids that think they are funny Signature removed. Please do not imply profanity in your signature. Navigator

I tend to avoid vent/TS when not in a fleet. I don't need to hear a person for their maturity to be apparent.
On the other hand with voice comms, an immature comment is ten times more painful when forced into my brain through my ears as opposed to filtering out some mess of bad grammer in the chat log.
Also keeps my typing skills up to scratch.

I find it kinda funny when people do the "break break" thing to report a 3 person jump in local 2 jumps away with a sense of urgency and paranoia when flying in a 50 man gang with plenty of support. Kind of a relax there buddy situation.

Never really had any problems on any vent or TS I was ever on... Then again, I was mostly on BoB/Crmsn ts/vent... Best group of people to fly with, and none of them are annoying at all. Very mature.
You just have to fly with the right group of people.

I find myself using military phrases and situation reports and when I do encounter a sizable enemy fleet I always do the observation in the salute format on fleet coms without even thinking about it. Average Joe playing EVE might find it funny, but since that is the way I was trained it's the fastest and easiest way for me to report to the FC what is up.
