from today all sms, phone calls, emails and internet history are legally stored for at last 6 months by private company(vodafone,orange ISP etc) all this just to fight against terrorism
whit this we beat UK USA and almost win Chinese laws |

One Romanian page describing the new law.
Google auto-translate attempt... relatively decent.
Basically, it says all phone service providers must "keep a 6 month record of who made calls, from what exact phone, who they called and how long they spoke", and for ISPs something similar, but regarding who the owner of the IP is (if even possible to determine), what time they "went on" and then off, and if any e-mails are being sent from one of the ISP's mailboxes, who they're being sent to.

Perhaps it's a holdover from Soviet days? Perhaps the govt felt too powerless without some law reminiscent of the old days?

well democracy fail to deliver to romanian ppl, actually many ppl cry for the old communist days  this las is just one small step to forge a presidential republic i believe this year we get a constitution reform @ that.

pretty simple. and you guys are looking way to deep into this.
im sure you have a director of national security or some such waste of money around and this equates into:
A) said ministers wife is sleeping around
B) ^^ ^^ mistresss is sleeping around
C) someones Daughter is sleeping around

Ip addresses can be traced to an owner.
You borrow your ip from your isp, it is dynamic, but for most users stays the same for a while (until lease expires, or your router drops offline for a certain amount of time, or if you add a new router, or change your routers mac address through software.)

No, the question is, why isn't there a "ban this guy from politics for his entire lifetime" option on ballots.
When your choices are corrupt guy A, incompetent guy B and so on and so forth, there's not much of a choice.

There is always a choice.
Granted, choosing between something like "lets abolish the welfare state" and "lets abolish human rights" is not easy, but I've found there's always someone on the ballot who is closer to my views than the current government.

Are you kidding ? I'd be voting for that guy in a heartbeat if I'd actually believe he can keep his promise. Problem is, nobody would actually say that over here, and even if he would be stupid enough to say it (so he basically has no chance of getting elected) if by some miracle he gets elected he has next to zero chance of actually doing that.

Indeed, which is at least one of the many reasons that police routinely patrol state roads. The difference there is that they can pull the car over and search it, whereas to continue the analogy, the Freenet project is akin to having your cars windows blacked out and with locks that will only open with a combination of your blood, skin and stool samples.
I know here that coppers love to pull over people with blacked out windows, so it's only a matter of time until they catch on and simply using Freenet makes you a suspect, giving the police just cause to make your life hell.

hahaha i will like to see the level of data protection
going back to the complain part freenet devs are not guilty of anything if some pedo use the network.
If ppl want to join in this but dont like the "give host on your pc" part can just put in the config 1 byte then that node act more like a "proxy". |
