Tips for 0.0 space and pirates:
1) Warping attracts pirates. Go as slowly as you can.
2) Miner 1's usually scare off pirates. Fill all of your turret slots with them.
3) Pirates are just lonely. Tell them that you want to talk if they attack you.
4) Going around screaming that you have a full load of ore will scare away pirates.
5) Pirates are afraid of loud noises and bright lights. When in doubt of someone being a pirate, toss a smartbomb at them. If they run away, they're a pirate.
6) "Aaar, Matey!" is the universal pirate call. Saying this to a pirate who is attacking you will make him disengage. Also, comments questioning his sexual preference or making an otherwise unfavorable comment about his mother will also make him disengage. However, pirates have cought on to non-pirates using this trick, and have since updated this universal call. As a matter of security, the more curses and insults thrown at him will make him see you as a fellow pirate and thus not attack you.
7) Pirates are afraid of asteroids. Tuck yourself into an asteroid field if you're being chased by a pirate.
8) (Newbie Tip!) The term "0.0" is actually misleading. In reality, it doesn't mean that it's unsafe, but rather that there is a 0.0 chance that someone will turn down your begging on the Rookie Channel, whereas 1.0 means that there is a 100% chance.
9) Pirates actually control sentry guns. Running towards them will only make them fire on you. Instead, run towards the centre of the system, far away from any sentry guns or stations.
10) Pirates stick near stations. Stay as far away as possible.

I insulted sentryes once and they didnt fire back  ,your theory is somewhat biased on some point.
You need to fix it,but correct for the most part.

Autopilot is useful in 0.0 space, simply set it and walk away from keyboard. You will get to the destination without hassles.
