OK i have had a good look thru the forums, cant find a post like this. After this long they still havent added a search feature? Jeez...
Anyway. I notice the Vulture has better base res than the Nighthawk. One more med slot too, same shield and recharge, so one would think "hmm, better passive tank".
But its a turret boat, and for Caldari, thats not quite the norm. Also one less low slot, only 5 turrets can be fitted, compared to 6 launchers on the NH. Then i notice something big. Wow, nearly half the powergrid! I was hoping to have myself a little high tanked blaster boat, but i dont think that will work.
I need some help guys, i dunno what to go for. Any advice? |

I've never really attempted to use a Vulture but a friend of mine always told me the difference between turrets and missiles is that the former hit instantly but for less damage and the latter take time but hit harder. So I guess it's instant gratification or more boom for your buck? >.> |

For pvp the vulture, use ganglinks instead of turrets, you are not a dps ship, your job is to provide bonuses.
For pve the nighthawk all the way, good tank ok dps.
Overall you sound far too in experienced to be jumping into either of these ships. |

Edited by: Joo C on 20/01/2009 20:19:09 Well new character, Eve vet, i played solid for nearly 4 years. I used to own a nighthawk, thats why im going for command ships again, but i already had the missile skills trained by then, a turret boat was no option.
But now i start from scratch. Although i want peoples opinions on the ships, not on my experience ;)

Nighthawk: PVE: Great carebearship - atm best missionrunnership ig (with max skills) - cost and comfortwise PVP: Hard to fit, either tank or speed (mwd) - can be compared with a Drake (= sucks in pvp)
Vulture: PVE: Kickass tank for example as tank in a level5 mission etc - no damage PVP: -Uber gangbooster (see below) -Nice sniper like an eagle - also with ganglinks or without -Very nice gangship/bait in combination with buffertank (5x lse, 1x invul + rails) -Very nice soloship with active tank and Neutron Blasters |

Are you serious? The vulture has much mor grid than the nighthawk.
Is that what you were actually saying? Coz it didnt sound like it.
And yes, A vulture can make a stupid tank fit with blasters (they take less grid than rails). |

as most are saying the Vulture is a great gang ship. on sum of the bigger Lv5 missions with caldari navy (minmatar carrier) i take mine in to give the 25% to the basislisks shield reppers and resists.
for lv4 mission running or just a fly swatter type ship to get rid of frigs/cruisers for lv5 missions then nighthawk is great. all depends on what u want to do i guess.
