Hello everyone, yesterday, I found a true sansha bpc and I proded it... there is the first part, I now use it for ratting but I have some tanking problems... the cap goes away fast, BS hit me hard... here is my fitt so you can check by yourself :
[Phantasm, New Setup 1] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Capacitor Power Relay II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction 'Anointed' I EM Ward Reinforcement Medium C5-L Emergency Shield Overload I Ditrigonal Thermal Barrier Crystallization I
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Small Tractor Beam I Salvager I
Capacitor Control Circuit I Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Hobgoblin II x3
I'd like some help to improve my tank agaisnt those rats, (sansha's nation npc) don't post passive tanked setups please, also if you can help, try to put a microwarpdrive into your setup, thx. |

Isn't your setup include a hearty passive tank?
Maybe you mean passive regen tank, like with the shield power relays and what-not. |

Try something like this:
[Phantasm, New Setup 1] Capacitor Flux Coil II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Medium Shield Booster II Shield Boost Amplifier II Photon Scattering Field II Heat Dissipation Field II Large Capacitor Battery II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M [empty high slot] [empty high slot]
Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hobgoblin II x3
Perma-runs without MWD (1m 36 running everything), Tractor/Salvager fit with WU 5, if you want them. Tanks around 115 DPS against EM/Therm, deals 341 DPS inc. drones (388 with AN Multi). Pretty much what I use for L2 missions when I'm bored. |

Tbh the only set up i found to be (almost) cap stable is one using a pair of gisti boosters an that really isnt cheap mostly because sansha ships have a gaping big hole in their shields which makes then pretty bad vs sansha. If you're dead set on it its possible, if expensive, to achieve your goal.
As for me, well, navy omen is half the price, does more damage and has more drones with a more effective sansha tank. I chose it over the phantasm month back when i sold it, and i still use it over the phantasm. If i were you i'd sell it, buy a navy omen and pocket the change. |

Fab ya nub
Highs: 3x HPL II Small nosferatu II salvager
Meds: 2x LSE ( can't remember if i had t2 or t1's ) 1x Magnetic scattering amplifier II 1x Heat dissipation amplifier II 1x t2 10 nm mwd 1x Photon Scattering field II
lows: 2x heatsink II 1x cap power relay II
Rigs: 1x Anti EM shield 2x Anti thermal shield or 1x thermal and 1x CCC
I've ratted with this setup ages and it worked pretty sweet. With some bit of pilot flying you'll be able to barrely get damage. Just orbit the battleships and you'r done. ( that nosferatu works vs NPC's and keeps your capacitor stable ) |

Edited by: Hirana Yoshida on 22/01/2009 19:51:55 Signature radius is your enemy. You don't need all that buffer for ratting, that's a PvP tank and probably the reason why the BS are raping you.
Try this out, a moving cruiser using AB is nearly impervious to BS rats, at least in my experience.
[Phantasm, Ratting] Damage Control II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
10MN Afterburner II Large Shield Booster II Photon Scattering Field II Heat Dissipation Field II Stasis Webifier II Cap Recharger II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Small Tractor Beam I Salvager I
Capacitor Control Circuit I Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Remember the damage control, unstacked near capless resistances should always be used
Large booster for burst tank on approach, once you are under the guns of the rats the AB will keep you safe .. trying for anything approaching cap stability on a shield tanked laser boat is futile. Web and drones for frig rats. |

AB are your friend.
When ratting best to have AB or they are gonna **** you every time. Stop, hammer time. |

I bet you won't be tanking 3 Tyrant BS rats spawning at 50 km, will you? It'll take a while before you get into their range with a AB.
Question: Have you ever ratted sansha rat's in a phantasm?
Like i said in my previous post. A bit of pilot skill will get that buffer tank working better then active ones.
