Can you find any of the rarer ores in level 3-4 missions? Specifically hedbergite, gneiss, dark ochre, crokite, bistot or arkonor? Also, is there a way to get the mining missions (where you mine the useless ore for mission rewards) with any degree of regularity? |

1. No, not really.
2. You could try working for a mining corp... Mining is a corp division (90% mining, 10% courier). From my experience, level 4 mining missions are much too time intensive to turn a profit. Level three on the other hand are fairly quick, and some have very interesting Salvage (Pile of Pithix comes to mind). The thing about the mining missions though is that they all require some shooting. Either a Hulk with drones, a mining Cruiser/BS (again, drones) or just clearing the field with a standard combat ship.

Yes, some level 3 mission deadspaces do have Gneiss ore. Not a large amount, though.

The easy way to get mining missions is to go to a mining mission agent :)

There's an L3 mission that has a little bit of Gneiss in it (about 2mil ISK worth), and of course the L4 missions with Omber and Kernite in them, but that's about it I think.

the mission with gneiss is New Frontiers, part 1 I think.
