Edited by: eladi on 25/01/2009 01:11:04 Edited by: eladi on 25/01/2009 01:05:44 Afther some experiments whit a lite version of xp (who could not run eve online deu having no suport for directX) I tought I go all crazy and install VISTA HOME BASIC on my [Acer one 110]
Installation took a little while (about a hour) and nearly 7gb of the 8GB SSD harddrive was full but sofar so good. hitting the limmeds of the harddrive I conected a external disk (320gb) and started installing Eve online.
this little notebook cost around 230,- Euro ( can be cheaper if orderd in Uk or US or other Finance hit country's) Add 15,- Euro for a 1gb memory module and take the time to add it ( its fairly easy but you will have to disasamble the entire notebook)
And you have a fine machine that can run eve fine. (havent tryd prem.grapics yet)
My next tryout will be to install Eve on one of the buildin SD slots (will use a 8gb highspeed SD card), That would alouw for removing the ext.drive saving power when being mobile.
Curently using my HTC 4350 as modem and a ext disk I can go to some random place and run eve for about 45m-1hour bevore running out of power.
This should aswer if its useable. Ofcource a faster version whit more memory and own real harddrive would be better but also more expencive.
some tought, IF CCP removes shader 2 suport at the end of this year a current model netbook wont be able to run eve anymore, this deu the intel 945 chipset/videochip being used. (shader2)

The SSd should run fine, the old 8gb ssd acer used is getting a 4,8 on my vista score. the intel fixed video memory size is what makes running games hard. that 16bg ssd and xp combo will be fine for Eve.

Well thats done, Eve online running from a normal camera SD card
I could not install it directly to the SD card , everytime it failed but a simple copy/past of the eve directly works fine.
SD the new floppy drive ;)

Edited by: eladi on 26/01/2009 03:01:15 About time ... 3d analyze bin the tool for years to use when your hardware cant handle it. Unless in in the blank/black I find it just..strange that no company or genius has taken Video hardware emulation to the next level yet.
Anyways, if you have a real old someting and wana run some more modern games download this. For exsame, it alouws me to play Never winter night 2 on my Acer 110 netbook. enable TnL under the DX8.1 options and you might need a no-cd "fix" for some games.
