Edited by: PaddyPaddy Nihildarnik on 25/01/2009 07:16:59 Hey there everyone. Im in a bit of a pickle. Im kinda getting the urge to branch out a bit and start flying new shiptypes. Im basically specced out ( not all lvl 5 but, ya know- sorta) in the sub capital Gallente and Caldari ships, right from ceptors to command ships (in about a month or so should have 90% maxxed or near maxxed skills for all ships).
Anyhoo Im thinking about branching out into the other races. Most of the non racial skills are already solid, in both armour and shield tanks, as is gunnery, electronics etc.
The way I see it ive got 4 options.
1. Beef up your lvl 5 repertoire (ie the boring but the epeen waving option): Have lots of lvl 5 skills and really, really shine in the two races I already fly
2. Amarr: Pew pew lazors are cool. Ive always considered amarr ships a bit exotic and they never really appealed to me. They have however recieved the not so recent buffs and ive been in a few gangs with mates who love amarr ships and they swear by em, even prior to the buff. Ive particularly seen their BS do some awesome stuff
3. Minnie: The not so fast- not so furious? I had planned to skill up for the Minnie ships, ive got a personal crush on both the Recons and the Sleip, but with the recent crushing of nanos perhaps dumping 3-6mths of training into a race that has clearly had one of its best attributes taken from it might be a bit wasted.
4. Dont diversify too much more- start playing with the big boys/ Capitals: The Moros- what an awesome ship. Ive pretty much got the wealth to fly capitals, particularly dreads but I dont know if ive got the desire. Done alot of 0.0 fleets and although getting into a cap would be a new level for me. I havnt flown in a 0.0 fleet for nearly a year and have been slumming it in empire and doing Faction Warfare but this too is now a bit boring so I figure a return to the 'real' eve might be forthcoming. It looks like lag has gotten alot better and as such it might be worth considering. The other negative for the capital route is that I only play on a single char- therefore I would be forced to rely on someone else for cynos etc or (more likely) finally bite the proverbial bullet and get a second account.
So whats the verdict peeps? Thanks in advance
